Running as quickly as he could down an alleyway all too aware of the agent on his ass, Lee began to move from side to side, down adjusting alleyways, worried about what was going on. The Agents had begun to attack him, he wasn’t impressed, but that wasn’t his first thought that flew from his mind. Bouncing off a wall, he turned a corner sharply, turning his only too see the Agent still on his ass. Looking around, Lee saw a fire-escape Ladder and leapt for it, grabbing it with easy and began climbing, he heard gun shots being fired at him, but he kept going, left hand, right hand, one after another making sure he got up the ladder as quickly as possible. Slamming into a door he burst into a family of four watching T.V. Giving them a quick nod and a smile he carried on running and slammed into the family’s front door and ran down the hallway, unsure if the agent was following him, but he didn’t stop, he saw a window in front of him, drawing his gun he fired a shot at the glass, the glass breaking into pieces as the bullet went flying through it. Leaping forward Lee shot out the window, knowing it was a good two foot job, he didn’t care, he had a feeling something was about to go right. The ground below was a main-road, and just as Lee was coming close to the ground, a truck drove right under him. It cushioned his landing a lot, and Lee just rolled on it, and came to a halt. Panting slightly, Lee looked around, confused as anything. Why were the Agents chasing him? He thought he was still a neutral… This was most odd… After about ten minutes, the truck came to a halt in the City, jumping off the truck, Lee carried on walking calming down a side-walk on the main road, thinking to himself… It didn’t make much sense but he didn’t care. Looking around, he wondered what was going on… and keeping a half-mind on his gun in his pocket, ready to draw as and when an agent appeared… Finally Lee arrived at a small café in the centre of town, smiling slightly he went inside. It was one of his safe-houses of sorts, and information booths. Looking around he entered and then proceeded to the bar area, ordering a coffee and smiled at the bartender. Paying for his coffee he then went to sit down, keeping an eye out for people, he didn’t know if anyone was going to come and see him, he would just have to rely on his luck… As usual |

Sipping his coffee Steve noticed a man entering the cafe/bar, it seemed like he was trying not to look like he was rushing his way in. The mysterious man ordered a coffee and sat a mere few meters away from Steve. What ever he'd been up to Steve didn't know, but he had a feeling it wasn't feeding the ducks. He decided to make nothing of it for now, turned back to his paper, and took another sip of coffee, Redford always liked days off work. |

Idly sipping his coffee, Lee peered around once more, but just shrugged, he had a feeling no-one was really interested in him today, but for some reason that didn’t bother him, he was relaxing again, and was grateful because of it, he hummed to himself, before standing up, his coffee emptied and stepped out the café, to look around, peering around the street for anything that might come as a surprise, if anyone was looking directly at him, they might have seen the gun by his hip, but then again, they might not, it all depended on the angel they were at. The streets were busy as usual, but Lee didn’t care, he had seen so much action the past few weeks, the Machines were getting by far more and more aggressive but he didn’t care, he couldn’t care, if he cared, he would become a side, and that was the last thing he wanted, even though the Machines attacking him was hardly something he enjoyed, he would just have to let it slip.. |

"Same again please love" Steve asked kindly to the waitress passing him by, holding out an empty coffee mug. She neglectfully took it and strutted on, Redford raised his eyes in amusement. The mysterious man had gone, from thin air. Steve stretched his arm and blinked a few times, was he this tired he was now imagining people? He felt his right elbow, still sore from the week before, the Cotton Plaster hiding the scar had only been put on the previous day. Steve received his fourth Mitso Cappuccino and turned the next page of his newspaper. |

Suddenly the tranquillity of the small cafe was broken by a crashing sound in the back. Without warning a man, average in height and look, flew face first through the double doors leading into the kitchen and crashed against a table directly in front of a gentleman sipping his coffee. Seconds later Cage boldly strode out through the doors, arms spread wide as he opened them. "Mr Barker" he said, his tone gruff and dark, "What have I told you about forgetting your friends". The gentleman on the floor, now obviously no older than his late thirties, attempted somewhat in vein to get to his feet. Slipping and sliding on the clean tiled floor he looked sure to collapse once more when he found himself rising off the ground. "You promised them you would leave the package at the designated spot, however on arrival they found none other than a pair of agents, can you answer me why?" Cage continued, his eyes firmly fixed on the man before him, "I strongly hope it isn't because you betrayed our trust". Just as the man looked to answer, Cage threw him through the plain glass window fronting the shop with little more than a gaze. The man crashed onto the sidewalk with a bone crunching crack. He screamed out in agony, the words of an apology muffled by his obvious pain. |

Steve looked at the bottom of his coffee mug, gone already. He yawned as he stood up. Peering out of the window, opposite the street there seemed to be some trouble, he was lucky he had chosen that particular cafe, for it seemed someone was being thrown out. Of a cafe?? perhaps the waitresses in there thought "he'd had enough." But Redford soon noticed this guy had been thrown out by a fairly tall, angry looking man. Steve squinted his eyes.. could it be him?.. He recognized the 'victim' of this situation from a number of months ago, someone had started an account in his name, was put away for benefit fraud, but since his lawyer was some posh London-er he was released after a month. So what had happened, had this idiot tried it again? Steve stood up. Chucked twenty at the woman behind the bar as rushed off outside, putting his hands in his pockets as the door closed behind him.. Casually walking around, taking the proper exit, Cage stepped on to the side walk. Approaching the downed man, who had rolled over to reveal a much bloodied nose, Cage folded his arms. By this point the hustle and bustle of the street had slowed, all eyes fixed upon the transgression. It was only a matter of time till Agents turned up to fix the problem or Exiles to join the show. Cage had to think fast to solve this problem, it was a most difficult position for him to be in. "You see Patrick, I am now at a disadvantage" Cage continued, this time his tone more relaxed then gruff, "My decision to confront you was my own, I had a plan in my mind and I was inclined to stick with it. However I feel now you may be worth a second chance, so what do you think?” Patrick struggled to speak, the agony of his fall still breaking his vocal cords, "I... didn't mean too... I promise... they made me". Cage shook his head, unfolding his arms and crouching down to look Patrick in the eyes. "And I hoped you hadn't done it" Cage spoke, slowly standing. As he did so Patrick slowly rose of the ground, fear firmly embedded in his expression. Onlookers gasped as the gentleman hovered almost 3ft in the air under Cage's will, although that was unknown to them. Showing the simplicity of the plugged they began to clap and cheer as their minds struggled to comprehend what was happening before them, replacing it with illusions of a magic act. With a simple sorry, spoken under his breath, Cage flung the man back into the cafe. Stepping through the glass window, ignoring the door this time, Cage out stretched his hand lifting the beaten form of Patrick with his mind. By this point Patrick was slumped, limp and knocking at deaths door. Seeing the spirits of the machine reach out to grab him, Cage took hold of his neck and swiftly twisted his hand. The blood curdling click sent a chill down even the veteran Zionites back. The spirits took his code in their arms and disappeared back into depths of the system, Patrick was no more, now Cage would have to move. |

Lee watched from a far as he witnessed something that made his blood boil. What was this idiot playing at? This was a public street for crying out loud! If people began to view the matrix, it was force an open war! That was mad, he was just showing off, he didn’t need to do this. Lee’s hands were clenching in anger, he couldn’t believe that this guy was beating some-one up like this, he watched as the guy flew backwards into the café, Lee had had enough, he ran forward into the café, luckily enough no-one else was close by, everyone was still thinking it was a magic trick, or something similar, due to the clapping, but Lee was furious, raising a hand he slammed the shutters closed around the front of the café that Cage and himself were in, when he heard a large slam, he peered at Cage and spoke slowly, each word was dripping with anger. ”What, the hell, do you think, you are doing?! Eh?! This is a public place you moron! Don’t you know the rules?! If you plan on pulling that stunt again, I’ll put a fucking bullet in your head! You don’t do it in public! You want the matrix to crash?! Its already in a bloody nightmare of a system, everything is going wrong!” Lee said, his voice wasn’t that loud, but he was looking daggers at this guy, he couldn’t believe what he was doing. He was tempted to draw his pistol and begin firing shots, but the idea of the public still behind him was keeping him trigger fingers in check… for the moment. |

Cage turned to face the irate figure confronting him. "Look here my friend" Cage said in a calm voice, "As far as the matrix is concerned this is a little misdemeanour. Although Agent's will come their response time will fall short, as for the people, they will believe it a scene from a movie. You watch any single one of them and I bet you they will tell their families they saw an action movie on set today". Leaning down to the bloodied body of the fallen deceased he reached into his blazer pocket and retrieved a piece of paper. "This is just what I am looking for!" Cage said as he slowly stood, "and now it's gone". With a flash of energy the paper was torn apart, the pieces falling to the ground. "If I was you my friend I would exit hastily. You feel you should shoot me, that I can see, but ultimately you would only be doing a service to the machines" Cage continued as he slowly walked toward the exit. Placing his hand on the door, he paused and then took a step back. Outside the crowd was being motioned away by police officers and a familiar black Cadillac was pulling up. A smirk crossed Cage's expression and then his head twitched twice, frantically to the right. Recovering, Cage seemed to ignore the fact it happened, in fact he seemed oblivious to the fact. Instead he simply scratched the back of his neck, the hairs standing on end. Something was up. Looking back out the window Cage stared straight into the eyes of the Agent and for a second, he agreed with them. Shaking himself around Cage turned back to the man who had confronted him, "What was your name?". |
