The Game Master System; For Topics, Missions, and all sorts of old school Rp fun.

Game Master to many of those new to RPs and familiar with MMO's when they hear this think Game Moderators. However for those of us from the old school tabletop Dice and Pencil Rp's, Game Master resonates the name of that Omnipotent psychopath that is trying to kill you with a horde of baddies, a maze of traps, or with diseases then would dote you with rewards and experience for sticking in there for so long. While those who took the last cookie during these sessions didn't fair too well the rest of us had a blast as this Man took the reigns to build a world and story for our characters team to venture in and overcome. Suffice to say it was a dysfunctional and abusive relationship, but the masochists we were kept coming back for more good story.

So Game Master, as it may now become clear to you is a role that can be uptaken by an individual to lead a story for others. Those willing to GM should understand what it is a Game Master does first though. Because story is one thing but they are sitting on a side with all the cards, and for them it is not about winning but an experience.


  1. A GM has absolute authority in a topic and is responsible for the well being and flow of it and its members.
  2. While following Forum rules and being fair GM's have a near unlimited creative arsenal at their disposal to shape their worlds.
  3. Are free to have their PC's or other Story Characters involved to help further their stories.
  4. Are in control of a majority of the opposition and are responsible for adding details that players to respond to. In effect they are responsible to respond similar to the response of their players.
  5. Are not to play the role to ultimately win and while not being easy allow an opening to help Players win if they are stuck to further and enjoy the story of the topic.
  6. Have privilege with some staff permission to produce Loot, treasures, and special items to people for their struggles in the story.
  7. With that their Stories must be built to hinge on the reactions of the players to make them feel an effect for their actions.
  8. But despite all their power must Adhere to the advice the staff and listen to their players.


This being stated it is a rather easy process as it is not Mandated to be a GM as most common RP player share construction of a world and story. But those looking into it can post a link into a thread outlining your potential topic to see what members what to be involved here in the Feed. You can also cooperate with another member to serve a Cooperative GM for the topic. This is a system to give option to members who want to create Missions and Plot lines, and for others to have a place to imitate the games and have these goal oriented missions and stories with real award to it.

Remember the heart of a GM is to form fun so always keep it upbeat and willing to compromise for the greater good. In this way you will help further the story of the site and strike originality into these threads. If at all it allows you to take a break from just being a player in the story, and become the story weaver.
