It could have gone better, he admitted that. Normally, his reflexes were second-to-none, and had it not been for the dirt-covered ground below him, the Prussia was sure he could have stopped in time to keep from running headlong into the person he'd been chasing. Adler had barked beside him in faint alarm, moving to sit behind the timid girl on the chance she might fall again. While he was a wolf, he was good at reading his master's unsaid orders and knew where to go. "H-Hey..." Gilbert protested weakly, attempting to push Taiwan's worried hands away as they buttoned his shirt and jacket. "I'm fine. I don't need--hey... I won't burn that quickly. I..." Words failed the albino as he stared at Taiwan in faint awe. His cheeks immediately darkened again, complimenting his cheeks perfectly as he threw (most) of his self control into keeping his eyes from wandering anywhere other than the young girl's face. "You... shouldn't have run off like that..." he muttered, reaching out with his empty hand to cup Taiwan's face. "It's rude to say something like that to a guy and leave him no time to reply. I'm lucky I had Adler to find you... West would have killed me if I had to borrow all that money just to chase you across the world." Crimson eyes sparkled softly in delight as Gilbert raised his other hand, and popped something into his mouth. "...You made them, right? That's... pretty awesome, you know? West is a good cook and all, but he could never pull something like that off. And you... well, you're pretty awesome yourself... you know?" By now, Prussia's face had managed to darken by several shades, giving off a very good impression of a tomato. "S-so, anyway, I--gaugh!" Gilbert grunted softly, glaring at Alder who have moved behind him and was attempting to push his master forward by placing his paws on his back. "Adler, down!" The wolf complied with a small whimper of annoyance, giving his master a knowing look. Prussia snorted and turned back to Taiwan, rolling his eyes slightly. "...Awesome, but a dork, huh?" He chuckled and stepped forward, wrapping his slender, but muscular arms around her waist, easily lifting her up to a more accessible height. He bent his knee slightly, prodding it on a crate nearby and letting it double as a post for the young brunette to sit on. "...Mind if I give you an answer, then?" Not waiting for her response, he leaned in quickly, oblivious to the mixed looks around them, as he gently, and (surprisingly enough) hesitantly claimed her lips with his own with a gentleness the albino couldn't quite remember himself every having possessed before. |

Taiwan's frantic movements ground to a halt when Prussia's hand cupped her cheek, and her eyes stayed focused on the ground as he spoke, cheeks darkening with embarrassment and shame- it was true. She hadn't even thought about what would happen if... if he actually wanted to respond to her confession right away. Yet another cultural difference it seemed. She started to apologize, but was cut off as he continued... complimenting her baking, of all things. Knowing that 'awesome' was the highest form of compliment to the albino, she couldn't help the way that her heart thumped each time he said it. When he picked her up, arms around her waist, her hands instantly went to his biceps to balance herself, and she looked up at him finally as he set her on his knee. She felt rather like a child, and she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the inevitable... Only to feel something soft- his lips!- against hers, and her grip tightened, eyes flying open in surprise. All thoughts of apprehension were wiped from her mind as she sank into the kiss, completely forgetting where they were, how many people were likely watching the odd pair, and everything outside of how right it felt and oh gods he's kissing me! She pulled away only when her lungs reminded her with a sharp throb that air was necessary to existance, and she quickly buried her face in Gilbert's shoulder, mortified and ecstatic at once. "Gua ai li," she murmured, the words muffled against his shirt, unable to keep herself from saying the three words in her native language. "Gua ai li, Gilbert..." |

Languages had never been something Prussia took his time to learn. Of course, he could insult someone or say the word 'awesome' in more languages than one could count on both their hands, but that was as far as he bothered to go. German can naturally, he was fluent in it, of course. It was the mother language of him, his once land, family, and people. He took pride in a language that, between all the nations, only he and his brother knew perfectly. It was almost more fun that way--and easier to insult someone in the room. Still, as Taiwan uttered the three soft words in her native language (which, Prussia realized, he didn't know how to say, 'awesome' in, yet) he didn't need any form of translation to know what it meant, and a wide, genuine smile spread across his face, crimson eyes sparkling in gentle admiration and warmth. "Taiwan..." he murmured, gently brushing her long brunette hair behind her ear as he laid his head gently atop her own, his voice soft. "Mit der wahren Liebe ist's wie mit den Geistererscheinungen: alle Welt spricht darüber, aber wenige haben etwas davon gesehen... How the hell did I end up so lucky...? Ich liebe dich, Meimei..." Beside his master, Adler whined quietly and tugged the bottom of Prussia's jacket, urging Prussia to pay attention to the movement of the sun and heat. If the albino stayed out much longer, he would likely burn, and the last time he'd ended up with a complete sunburn... Germany was not pleased with the idea of having to help his older brother cover himself in lotion. "Woof..." Prussia blinked and pulled away slowly, peering down at his wolf who whined again, taking several steps toward the end of the alley before approaching the pair again. Snorting softly at the dogs actions, Gilbert turned his attention back to Taiwan, brushing his lips over her forehead before slowly lowering her back to the ground. His arms wrapped around her shoulders, holding her loosely against his chest as he peered down at the brunette, looking faintly amused. "Not very sympathetic to a situation, is he?" Prussia chuckled softly, glancing toward the dog who was, seemingly, glaring at his master. "...Come back to West's house with me. You came all this way, just to tell me that... It'd be terrible of me to send you back. Stay the night at the very least--Ah, we have a guest room, don't worry. I'm not that wino-moron France." He stepped back, holding out a gloved hand in invitation, "What do you say, Prinzessin?" ((*"With true love it's like seeing ghosts: everyone talks about it, but few have ever seen it." at least, that SHOULD be the translation if this random romance phrase-book is right. You're so corny, Prussia.)) |

Germany emptied another beer bottle into his glass. He put it down beside his chair with the others. He should clear them away. Soon. And he would, eventually. Just... not right now. He wasn't worried any more, not really. He was... anxious. And he couldn't clean up when he was anxious. Besides. He had things to think about, and even more importantly, things to drink about. "You see, the problem, Milli... is that everyone I know is an idiot." Milli tilted her head and looked at him quizzically. "No, true. You're quite right. Japan isn't an idiot. And England shows occasional flashes of intelligence, I suppose. But everyone else... " Ludwig sighed. "Dummkopf's. One and all." He gestured expansively. Kulbart gave him a knowing stare. "Yes, yes. That does include me. I'm drinking alone in the middle of the day talking to my dogs, aren't I? Are those the acts of an intelligent person? Just... let me finish, will you?" Waren barked. "Anyway. As I was saying..." He went on, giving Waren a look. "All the people I know are idiots. Fools. And for some unfathomable reason, the stupidest of the stupid are the ones closest to me. Now why is that? Is that fair?" He sighed and leant back in his chair, taking a long swallow from his glass. "Am I still being punished for my past?" He sighed again. Not that he would blame fate for wanting to punish him. He had done... No. He wasn't going to think about that tonight. Not again. He had fresh nightmares these days. He considered. The first of his problems was, of course, that Gilbert wasn't an idiot. Not truly. He was just so very talented in so many areas, and didn't need to work at it, that he assumed he was good at everything, and if he wasn't good at it, it wasn't important. Sadly, relationships were one of the things he wasn't very good at it. Therefore, in Gilbert's mind, they weren't important. But they were, they were vital. He just hoped that East could find MeiMei and just... not be too stupid. She'd came all this way just to give him that gift, just to tell East that she loved him. "Surely even East can't mess that up..." Ludwig thought. Then he worried some more. Germany laughed at himself. He was a fine one to talk. He wasn't really fit to give anyone relationship advice. Still, it didn't stop him from trying. And now that he was thinking about it, it was true that in some ways his other problem was a lot simpler, at least on the surface. Italy was an idiot, in some ways. But, the thing was, you see- His thoughts were interrupted as he heard the front door open. He stood up, quickly. It had to be Gilbert. "Back so soon?" He thought. Suddenly, he looked annoyed. "If East has come back alone I'm going to... I don't know. But it will be painful." He promised himself. Then he heard another voice. A girl's voice? Taiwan! Germany smiled, happily... then realised that their footsteps were coming this way. He looked around him. He would go out of the furthest door, just as they come in the one closest to them. With a little luck, they wouldn't notice him, and could continue their conversation uninterrupted. Yes! It was a great plan. Foolproof! All it required was a little speed and a little stealth. Ludwig put word to deed. Silently, he collected his glass and bottles. Swiftly, he crossed the room and stood by the door. As he heard their voices approaching the other door, he opened this door carefully, stepped quietly out into the hall, and tripped over Kulbart. |

The sound of glass hitting the floor followed by a loud thump jerked Prussia from his senses. He released Taiwan's hand immediately, offering her an apologetic look, running into the kitchen only to... burst out laughing. Ludwig was on the ground in a tangled mess of his own limbs and beer bottles with Milli sitting on his back, tail wagging, as if she'd just knocked the German down herself and was boasting her accomplishment. "Going somewhere, West?" Prussia grinned, stepping further into the kitchen and holding back the urge to laugh even harder as he watched two of the bottles empty themselves onto the clean carpet. If there was one thing about his brother that everyone knew, it was that Germany hated mess, and the dark liquid staining the white carpet was utterly comical (at least, in Gilbert's opinion.) The Prussian crouched down beside his brother, giving Milli an approving scratch behind the ears, snorting as Adler began sniffing at the wet carpet, licking it several times before stopping with an uneasy glance at Germany. "Didn't see the tumble, but I gotta give you a four for landing... You're a complete mess." Taking pity on his brother, Prussian waved Taiwan in from the other room, asking the brunette to retrieve some towels and carpet cleaner from the hall closet. "So, how many of those did you drink while we were gone? You drunk yet?" ((An entire Prussia post without one 'awesome' or 'Vital Regions'!? The world has gone mad!)) |

(CRAPPY DELAYED POST IS DELAYED AND CRAPPY. Yay for reviving a thread that’s been dead for… *counts* Two months and eight days~!) Though she didn’t understand what he said, Prussia’s tone said it all, and Meimei kept her face buried against his shoulder until he let her down from his knee. She laughed at Adler’s glower, bending slightly to ruffle the fur on top of his head, but froze when she heard the albino’s offer. His assurances caused her face to soften, though, and she smiled gently, slipping her hand into his outstretched one. The walk back to Ludwig’s house was filled with comfortable conversation (if awkward at certain points- it was, after all, Taiwan) and she was hyper-aware of his hand in hers, and of the moments that her still-bare arm brushed against his sleeve when the crowds pushed them closer together. They had just entered the front door of Germany’s house when a loud sound caused her to startle, drawing both hands to clasp before her as Gilbert rushed off to find out the source of the noise. She followed cautiously at the sound of Prussia’s laughter, and had to stifle her laughter with her fingers. After fetching the items Prussia had asked for, Taiwan stood in the doorway, fingers idly scratching one of the dogs’- Waren, she thought, but she could have been mistaken. She would never tell them, but she found the brothers adorable when interacting with each other. |
