14:23:34 Assana lay sleeping curled up in a quilt work blanket at the edge of a couch in Ayden's livingroom, near the fireplace. She had spent the night, worrying and finally fell into a restless sleep around dawn. Although the assassins that had been hunting her lay dead with the help of the strange man, she still worried. They knew where she was, and she knew there was a possibility that they would find her, even now after their escape. Now evening was showing through the windows, and she shifted on the couch. Coming to awakeness, she arched her back as she stretched her arms out, unfurling from the couches clutches. Her eyes went wide in sudden wakeness as her form fell off the edge of the couch and onto the carpet before. "Oof." She winced and let out a breath, as she closed her eyes again. She pushed her hands down against the floor and slowly sat up, brushing a lock of hair from her eyes. She glanced around, getting her barings. 14:28:54 Ryan`` tossed and turned. He really couldn't be bothered to get up. An annoying sound of beeping went on as Ryan turned over and smashed his fist unto the alarm clock, breaking it as he pulled the cover over his head. He'd shoot his eyes opena s he jumped out of bed. Why? Because the beeping ment he was ment to be up. He'd take a quick shower before putting some jeans, shirt and some sneakers on. He'd grab his keys and wallet and a black hooded jacket before dashing down the stairs from his apartment and into the garages. He'd press a button and the sound of his Mustang's own beeping would be heard. He'd hop inside, the garage doors opening as Ryan drove out intot he streets. He went pretty fast as his stomach grumbled. The male needed breakfast... And fast. 14:41:20 [Nadia`] Out in the port of Marsaille there floated a small, one person craft that had drifted in early that morning with no sign of anyone having piloted it there. Down below deck, however, there lay a young woman in a long, flowing dress of swirling blues and whites that seemed to be made out of the water itself. She lay there with her arms out to her sides and one knee up, smiling as she felt the currents and waves beneath her, guiding the small craft in toward a dock so that she could tie the boat off. Without having to watch, she guided the boat gently to land and finally emerged onto the top deck, stretching her arms over her head as her raven dark hair was tousled by the wind. Humming to herself, she pulled some rope out and tied the boat off. "So now, where is it that I landed today?" She pulled a map out and followed the route around before circling her current location. "Okay then." She spoke with an accent that was quite British, though she had been near everywhere in the world. Anywhere the currents would- 14:41:37 [Nadia`] take her she would follow. A free spirit this one was. 14:53:17 Assana took a moment in her unfamiliar surroundings to figure out where she was, and why. But she was never one to sit around when she could be moving. She pushed herself to her feet and made her way to the kitchen. She made her way to the fridge and pulled out a few eggs, and some cheese, and a few veggies. She began getting materials together, and put a pan on the stove. Soon the smell of omlettes would permeate the room, and it wasnt long before she was sitting at the table, eating her meal with a glass of orange juice and a cup of milk. She ate in silence, brushing lock of hair past her ear to keep it out of her face. She was still dressed in the white sundress she had been wearing th enight before. It flowed along her form when she walked, but it wasn't clingy. either way, she ould have to get a new outfit so she could wash this one. She wasn't by anymeans materialistic, but there was some things she had to live with. Clothing was one of them. Pushing her plate back, she set it in the sink to wash later, and 14:53:39 [Assana] made her way to the door. 16:36:38 Ryan`` Parked his car quickly infront of a diner. His mind told him to grab something and leave but that couldn't happen. Killing the engine, he walked out of his car and slammed the door shut as he left his jacket inside. He'd walk in the diner, eyes scanning as he took his seat as the woman came to take his order. He just blurted what his eyes saw on the menu as a big bach of pancakes soon came. Ryan smiled and without arguments.. Began eating. 16:43:55 [Nadia`] Walking through the town with a smile on her face, she began looking through the town, taking her time as moved through the streets and alley ways, looking through the high and low of the place. So far this town was to her liking and she was sure that she'd find herself a decent bit of fun. That was all she looked for in a town, she did not care about the weather, that she could change, did not care if it was land-locked, so long as there were some bodies of water she was content, but if a place was boring she would not find herself staying long. Reaching a small family owned crystal shop, she deicded to stop in, looking for a sparkling new accessory to add to her small but stunning collection. Perhaps a necklace, her favorite type of jewelery. 16:48:34 Assana brushed her hair and slipped on a pair of shoes. Taking a shawl, she wrapped it aorund her bare shoulders, the fringe brushing against her lower back as she walked out the door. She glanced around along the unfamiliar streets of this port town. There were small shops and apartments, close together, and people of all kinds were rushing about on their chores. She passed them all, and paused near a fruit stand near a diner and china shop. Picking through the apples, she picked one up, squeezing it to see how hardy they were. She grabbed a basket and put a few into it, even as she picked out other fruits as well. Apples, oranges, pears and grapes for the most part. She shifted the heavy basket as she dug through her pocket for the money. She handed it over with a smile, and glanced around to see if she would go anywhere next. 16:52:39 Ryan`` Had the last fork full of his pancake. Already? Well the lad was late. He quickly drinked his drink, a chocolate milkshake.. How healthy right? After consuming his food and drink he left a 20 on the table and headed back to his car, eye twitching slightly as he ignored it and hopped into his car. His key went ignition as he attempted to revive the engine but it didn't work. He tried once more but nope. He was not only late, stuffed and tire but now he was rather angry. Popping the hood he'd take a look at his engine, the wind picking up due to his slight anger. Why Anger? Pfft He was tired, stuff, late and his car just broke down that why. 17:00:57 [Nadia`] Picking a small prisim, she pulled out a small string of leather and strung the crystal on it, placing it around her neck as she paid. Moving out of the shop, she began walking toward another part of town, looking to get herself a bit of a light breakfast. As she walked through the market she picked up a fruit here and there, placing most of them back as they did not suit her taste. During her search she managed to pass right by Assana but never once paid the girl any mind, not having any means through which to identify others such as herself and not really wishing to. Too many elementals in one place was sure to cause more trouble than the companionship was worth. Eventually she settled on a small bit of grapes, popping one of them into her mouth with a smile. 17:05:26 Assana glanced up as she certainly did sense Nadia. She felt a kinship with the woman, but only because they shared the same element. Either way, the woman passed right past her, without even a glance. She watched her a moment, and scanned the area; always a habit of hers when she looked for possible danger. She had lived too long for anything else, and she certainly didn't want to have someone sneak up on her. Thanking the merchants, she made her way along the small pathway towards the house, pausing when she saw a man checking his vehicle out. Curious, she sent her senses out, and caught her breath. Another one. Glancing around, she checked the road even as she crossed it, basket still held over her arm. "Do you need assistance?" She would ask softly, her eyes wide as she reached the male. 17:10:10 Ryan`` 's eye twitched once again as he shook it off. His eyes were brought up to the female with the basket as he smiled alittle. "Well... I guess all my car needs is.." He'd stick his head in and touch about a few things before sticking his head back out. "Excuse me." He'd look around the street before gazing at his rolled down car window. A small curent of wind jetted from his hand and seemed to twist the key to revive the engine. He smirked as he shook his hand and the current stopped. Why did he do it infront of her? He sensed he so he wasn't that afraid of revealing himself. "I'm all good now thanks." 17:17:37 Assana felt her liquid eyes widen as she felt the use of his abilities. She took a step back, glancing aorund quickly to see if anyone noticed what was going on, but for the most part, she couldnt see anything out of the norm. She tightened her hand upon the basket, even as the key turned. The car seemed to start on its own. She wasnt fond of displays in what had come to be known as a dangerous area, but she didnt know him well enough to really say anything. "Be careful." She said quietly, glancing around nervously again. She gave him a nod, and a gentle smile. "Well, alright then. Good luck on your journeys." She glanced at the car, and began making her way across the street again. 17:24:38 Ryan`` Smiled to the female and nodded. "Thanks.." Hesighed as he walked to the door and placed his hand on the door handle before looking at her walking away. "Hey wait up.." He'd let go of the handle and quickly walk to her as he stood a few feet from her. "Erm.. Thanks for showing the concern but um.. What.. Ya know.. What do you do?" Strange question but it seemed obvious to her what he was asking wasn't it? 17:32:56 Assana had just stepped up onto the sidewalk when she heard the voice. She half turned towards him, her eyes studying his for a moment as she waited for him to join her. She thought the question strange, but nevertheless, he had shown what he could do, it was only fair right? "Nymph." She responded softly. She glanced around, searching for water of some kind, but aside from the public well and water system that she could feel flowing under her feet, anything she used would be far too public. She glanced down into ther basket, and took an orange. Pulling it out of the basket, she held it flat in her hand, and concentrated on it. Taking a glass that she had been looking at earlier in the day, she concentrated on the orange, and it started drying up, the moisture sucked out of it. The orange shriveled up, even as her eyes turned over to the glass. Beads of moisture would begin permeating the glass, even as it started filling up with the orange juice. She took ahold of the glass and held it up to him. "That is one of t 17:33:05 [Assana] the many things I can do." 17:38:34 Ryan`` would blink. His eyes would focus on the orange as he smirked abit. That was actually kinda cool to him. He'd bring his eyes to her as shove his hands deep in his pocket. "Sylph.." He'd say after she had taken the juice fromt he orange. "Names Nathan.." He'd say putting his hand out to her. 17:42:25 Assana took the glass back, since he made no move to retrieve it. With a smile, she nodded. "Nice to meet you, Nathan." As he held out his hand, she shifted the basket on her arm ackwardly, and moved the glass to her other hand. Reaching out, gentle fingers would brush against his as she took his hand and gave it a small shake, as the western traditions required. With another small smile, she took her hand back and took ahold of the glass again. She took a small sip of the orange juice, savering the smooth acidic liquid as she watched him. She lowered the glass. "Assana.." She said softly. 17:48:45 Ryan`` Smiled some as he shook her hand. Once he retrived it. he'd stick both his hands deep in his pockets. his car engine still going as Nathan took a quick look at it before looking back at her. "Erm.. Yeah again thanks for uh.. showing the concern." He'd keep his smile on his face as he looked down to his sneakers then back at her. "I guess I'll see you around.." 17:54:05 Assana watched his face and his reactions. He seemed to be rather shy in her estimation. Not only that, but he seemed not to be good at conversation. She nodded her head graceously. "With this many people, there should be someone around to help. Just remember, that when someone is in need, extend your hand. Youll receive the same in kind." She nodded, a gentle smile on her face. "Yes of course. Probably." Hoisting her basket, she finished her orange juice and put the glass in the basket to take home. "See you around, Nathan.." She turned and began walking back to the house she was currently staying at. 17:58:34 Ryan`` wouldn't stop smiling slightly. He'd turn, putting hands in a fist as he turned but turned to face her once again. "Do you wanna go grab a coffee? Or orange juice or anytihng?" He'd ask with his smile growing slightly. His hands would go back in his pockets as his blondish hair got in the way of his eyes slightly. The gentle wind took car of that. He took a step forward with his slightly shy and scared face on. 18:03:05 Assana stopped again, turning to look at him. She shook her head gently. "I can't. I have to get home and take this food in. I can't let it sit out. Thank you however, maybe some other time. I'll see you around, I'm sure." She nodded her head, and turned away. Besides, didn't he have work he had to be at, and was quite late for? She didn't mind having company, but he seemed to stop her every few minutes to ask her something, or talk to her. She didn't mind it. No, in fact, she quite enjoyed the company, but she really did have to get the groceries home, and she'd rather sooner than later. Besides, she didn't have far to walk. 18:08:45 Ryan`` nodded. "Ok, well see you around.." He'd make his way to his car, putting it in reverse as he backed out of his parking space. He kicked it into first, then second, then third, then fourth nd finally fifth down the streets as he quickly arrived at work. He was late but it iddn'tmatter. He got into his work clothes as he began working on a car that was dropped off the other day. 18:19:27 Ayden had waken hours ago but slipped out while the other slept to do some erands. While Assana was gone, he had returned and quickly showered and changed out of the clothes he had been wearing before. Once again, lose fitted cloths dawned his form, light cotton pants and a black button up, top two buttons, bottom button and the sleeves were all undone, shirt was untucked and he didn’t even bother pushing his sleeves up. He moved into the living room then and plucked up the remote only to surf the new channels. 18:19:30 [Ayden] news* 18:25:11 Assana glanced back to watch Ryan take off in his car. She twinged at the fact that she had said no, but her choice was already made. She waved to him as he sped off, and made her way slowly through the streets and alleyways back to the place she had spent the night. She made sure never to stay in an area too long, and this place was no exception. Shifting the basket on her arm, she turned the handle and pushed the door open, slipping inside. She paused, seeing Ayden flipping through news channels. "Hello." She nodded towards him and moved past him towards the kitchen. She felt strange being in a strange house, with strange people, but as it was she had to make do with what was available to her. Setting the things down on the kitchen table, she went over to the fridge and began transfering the fruit into it. Apples, oranges, pears and grapes all went into the fridge, leaving the basket empty except for the glass she had procured. Taking it out of the wicker basket, she made her way to the sink and started filling i 18:25:21 [Assana] it up to clean the morning dishes. 18:30:22 [Nadia`] Having finished her grapes, Nadia making her way to one of the more residential districts, needing to find a place to stay now that she had decided that this would be her temporary home. Looking about, she began trying to figure out just where it was that seemed good for her. Somewhere high up, somewhere where she could see the water and, if she wished it, take off for a morning flight without having to use a window or climb too high up a fire escape. Happening on one such building, an apartment of sorts, she walked through the front door, not bothering to knock. If they disliked her or tried to chase her out, so what? There were a dozen different places she could try and if nothing else she could sleep in her boat, but doing as such might bring attention to herself. 18:30:33 [Nadia`] *began making her way* 18:32:24 Ayden looked up as he heard someone come into the door, his light eyes fixed on Assana as she came in with food it seemed. A slight smile pulled across his lips as a feeling of guilt touched him for not keeping the kitchen better stocked. “Hello there.” He said mildly before he looked back towards the TV as he flipped through the last two new channels before he went into the kitchen after her. “Are you well?” 18:43:05 [Ryan``] Skip me for abit 18:52:57 Assana paused near the fridge as she heard his voice from the livingroom. As he walked into the kitchen,s he nodded to him in greeting. "Hello." She greeted back, yet again. "Yes, I am well..thank you for asking." She gave him a small smile, and glanced away. The water had finished filling the sink, and so she walked over, shutting it off. She rolled up her sleeves and after putting a few drops of soap in, she began to wash the dishes. There werent many to do, but there were some. Some werent even hers. She gave him a soft smile, nodding. "Yes, I am well." It wasnt long afte rthat, she heard the door open. She glanced towards the kitchen door, her body stiffening a moment. "Someones in the house." She said softly, her voice strained. 19:01:29 [Nadia`] "Hello?" Her voice called out as she began poking her head through doorways, a wry sort of smile on her face. "Mister Landlord?" Nadia wandered through the place, looking for who it is she should talk to about renting the top room, if this should happen to be such a place. She did not stray too far from the door, however. Though she had no qualms about walking into the building itself, she did not wish to walk into someones room, possibly seeing something that could not be unseen. Such as a pair of old ones going at it like bunny rabbits, she'd taken several hours just to keep the image of those wrinkly bodies moving together out of her eyes. 19:19:09 Assana heard the rather timid voice of the female. Not knowing if it came from friend or foe, she would grab a broomstick and moved to the kitchen doorway, placing her back against the other side, out of her sight. Her fingers curled around dthe dead wood of the handle, brandishing it as a weapon. In case the elemental came through, she'd hit it over the head. Or something. Even though the television was clearly heard in the livingroom, showing that there was at least someone home, the house had become dead silent. She closed her eyes briefly, praying that it was someone friendly, and not someone coming to kill her yet again. Letting out a soft breath, she waited. Edited by Assana, Jul 19 2009, 10:40 PM.

20:52:36 [Nadia`] Suddenly things became still, far too still for her tastes. "Hello?" The only thing she could hear was the television, playing on in the background. "Anyone there?" Nadia slowly turned the handle of the door Assana was behind and poked her head though. "Hello?" Stepping through lightly, she would look around the room, aware that this was not the place that she wanted, but unaware of the woman poised ready to attack her. She'd not been expecting such an attack, having never recieved one in her searches. She'd been yelled at, startled, chased out, but never had someone give her a sneak attack. 20:56:39 Assana kept her silence, tilting her head in the manner that said she was listening. But she did not speak. She heard the intruder approach, a tenative Hello? in her voice. She did not seem like a burgular, perhaps she knew Ayden, the man who had helped her escape, and ran with her and the boy who had joined them. She tightened her hand on the wood, and waited, hearing the door open and the woman step through. She recognized her instantly as the one who had walked past her, and she could feel the power rippling off her. She smelled like a sister would. She couldnt harm her. She lowered the broom after a moment, but still held it at her side. "You did not knock." She stated more calmly than she felt, her blue eyes on the stranger. 21:00:32 [Regan] Regan's eyes opened slowly, unwilling to wake from the apparent best dream he had ever had. He spun up from the floor and looked to Assana, who had opened the door and revealed another girl behind it. Staring at Nadia for a few seconds, Regan's head went numb again. Another elemental. What are there, like, five of us now? He thought to himself, watching the two girls have a seemingly one-sided conversation. "You did not knock." Regan listened for Nadia's response, curious about two things; how she had found this place, and how she had made it here without being turned into swiss cheese by the shooters of last night. 21:07:45 [Nadia`] Spinning around quickly to face the one who had spoken, her expression turned from shock back to a plesant smile. "I'm sorry, I thought this to be a flat...I was hoping to speak to the landlord about becoming a possible tennant. This...is a flat right?" Her eyes began to move over the place as she become less and less sure about her original ideas of what this place was. "...why are you looking at me like that?" She seemed to look at her as though Nadia was known to her, and so far as she knew she had never seen this woman in her lifetime. Pale eyes met Assanas as she slowly became aware of someone else moving behind her. Hopefully they were all nice people and she would not have to be chased out once again. 21:17:41 Assana watched her curiously. She did not seem to be a burgular after all, it seemed! She lowered her broomstick and set it up against the wall. "I thought you came to steal. People do that, even here." She dusted her hands off, and glanced back into the livingroom where the boy was stirring. "Regan, if you are awake, come help me chop some vegetables." She called out. She turned her head back to Nadia, and shook her head. "As far as I know this is someones home. A man named Ayden lives here. We stayed the night. I'm not sure what a flat is, but you'll have to talk to him about staying. Perhaps he could also tell you places to stay too." Why are you looking at me like that? She had asked. She smiled and held out her hands. "Touch my hands." It was a strange request, yes, but if Nadia did, she would be able to feel the water flowing thorugh her. Her hands turned partially translucent as the water power was shown. The magic receded and she held her hands to her sides once more. "We are sisters, you and I. Not 21:18:00 [Assana] in the traditional sense, but all the same.." She paused a moment. "I saw you in the marketplace. You really should pay attention to your surroundings. Would you like to join us for the morning meal?" She asked. Her accent was hard to place, perhaps she had traveled alot. She turned her head to see if Regan was coming. 21:22:55 [Regan] "I'm awake, and ready." Regan said with a mostly awake smile, standing and replacing his glasses. "I think she means a flat as in an apartment, one home in a collection of so many others." He shrugged and slipped into the kitchen, peering around the little partition that separated it from the living room. Assana was asking the girl to take her hands. He refrained from uttering a sex joke, quietly slipping back into the kitchen and sliding a drawer open. In it were a variety of knives, big and small. Regan reached in and pulled out a small pearing knife, setting it down and slowly searching through the other cupboards to look for a cutting board. A quick glance to the door [to see if they had joined him], and a cutting board falling from the cupboard, the large piece of wood smacking his head. "Ow..." 21:28:05 [Nadia`] Reaching a hand out, she touched the others hand, not quite so surpised as she thought she might be at the sight of the womans hand turning to water. "I see, I was not aware that there were any colonies in France...granted I suppose they could be anywhere." Looking over to the boy who's head had been hit with the wood, she held out her hand, forming a small block of ice which she then wrapped into a towel. "Here, put this on it." Turning her attention back to Assana, she would tilt her head to the side slightly. "Sisters huh? Never had one of those....least not that I can recall. Grew up with extended family...but you do not wish to hear about all of that. My name is Nadia...and I would love to stay for breakfast." 21:38:57 Assana nodded to Regan's words and watched him come into the kitchen with the girls. She winced as the board fell on his head, and left Nadia's side. "Are you thirsty?" She asked as she pulled out a kitchen stool for Nadia to sit on. She patted the seat and made her way to the fridge, puling out vegetables. She grabbed a collander, and began washing the vegetables, and setting them aside near the chopping board for Regan to cut. She paused, her voice uncertain. "I do not know of any colonies, per say. Too many in one place may endanger us. But the ones I know..we came together out of necessity. But you are right. There are those who band together, and therea re those who are everywhere. We are tryign to blend in." Her voice was tight in remeembrance. She was not so old, but she remembered older ones talk about th enight their world changed. It was 70 years ago, during World war two. Something happened, something in a deep top secret area that brought the worlds together. Where once we were spirit, we were now fles 21:39:11 [Assana] flesh and unable to get back. But we had kept our remaining abilites left to us and we used that in our defense against the strange people. Sure, we had tended to humans in the past, but they had long forgotten our ways and we had forgotten theirs. Over the period of 70 years however, we had learned and adapted. She glanced over at Nadia and nodded. "Yes, sisters we be. You are all our brothers and sisters. Even if not in the true sense, we must stick together as family does. There is no one else." Her last words were quiet, even as she gathered other items to make a general stir fry. It wasn't a typical morning meal, but neither was she typical. 21:46:25 [Regan] "I'm alright...thanks." Regan said, politely declining the makeshift ice-pack. He withdrew the cutting board from it's place and closed the cupboard behind him, taking a fresh carrot and slicing it into thin discs while Assana explained the Elemental's predicament. The seconds ticked by and the knife continued it's faithful job of slicing the vegetables. He had moved the sliced greens into a glass bowl for further use by the time Assana was finished. "That's not necessarily true. Not all humans, as they may lead you to believe, are out for our guts. There are a few humans who would be willing to support us. We just haven't found any yet." He shrugged and pulled a large pan from a lower cupboard, sliding it onto the stove and firing up the burner with a quick matchstroke of flame. "I dunno about you, but fire and water are pretty damn easy to deal with. We may have to resort to firearms if the need arises..." 21:52:16 [Nadia`] Nadia stood back and listened for a while as she started thinking, closing her eyes as she leaned against the wall. "But are they really capable of taking us down? I mean, so long as we are not caught they have no reason to know who of us is among the elements and secondly, we're stronger than them. We shouldn't live in fear, looking over our shoulders. I certainly haven't and it's suited me just find so far." Of course she'd not been ignorant to the dangers either, but knowing the danger is there and letting it control you are two different things. If she wanted to join others, she would join them, if she wanted to go alone, she would go alone, and the thought of having a human decide that she was to be eliminated was not something that was going to stop her any time soon. "Firearms? You two are talking like there's a war on, and what do you mean easy to deal with? Are you trying to imply that we are weak? She and I," She pointed to Assana as she said this "She and I could drown each and every one of them-- 21:52:35 [Nadia`] where they stood if we wished, and you, I do not imagine that it would be too difficult for you to put fire to their vehicles, explode their gas tanks. Should they happen to rise against you. You two are stronger than any human alive, so why are you acting like they're the boogeyman?" 22:06:04 Assana glanced over at Nadia as if she had been living under a rock. She glanced over at Regan and shook her head. "There was one last night who shot our attacker. But until I know more about him, be careful around him." She said gently. She shook her head again, and moved over to the pan with her chicken, dropping it in as she added some oil. She stirred it around, waiting for it to cook and making sure no one side got too burnt. She wasnt an exceptional cook, but she managed the basics. "Anyone is capable of taking another down. Where someone may be weak in strength, they could gain in cleaverness. Never underestimate the opponant, or overestimate your own strengths. Taking caution has kept us alive thus far." She glanced over at Nadia, after a moment. "It is not our way to kill or be killed. Killing taints the spirit, fractures it. I do not kill if I do not see its necessity. There have been reports of kidnappings, murder, torture, by those who wish our elimination. I am not talking about living in fear, bu 22:06:33 [Assana] but I will live in caution. There are those who would not pause before they kill us. Last night a man tried to shoot me down. Instead he was killed by another." She turned her head away, and grabbed the bowl of vegetables, tossing it in along with some soy sauce for taste. Quieter, she spoke. "There is a war on, a war that has lasted almost the length of a mans life. He does not imply we are weak, only that we, like any can be overcome. " She nodded in assent and agreement. It was true, she could take a human down, and the boy could burn them and their vehicles to a crisp. She answered Nadia's question with hesitancy, but still she answered it. "I do not have all the answers, but where we number in the hundreds..they number in the billions. We are the minority, and even with our strengths, without wit and without caution, I dont imagine we could outlast in the long run." She went quiet after that, stirring the vegetables. 22:12:04 [Regan] "It's not only that. And nowhere have I implied that we are weak. Humans can change to their problems, they evolve to conquer them. Where oceans stood, the humans had built ships to ferry them across. Where fire stood, the humans created asbestos suits. Drowning won't even work. They've got oxygen tanks for that." Regan sighed, opening the window above the sink to let in some fresh air from the streets of Marsaille. "The humans stand now at an age of firearms. Pistols, shotguns, the like. All I'm saying is that to get to them, we may have to fight fire with fire...no pun intended." Regan sighed, searching the cupboards for placemats. Two cupboards from the left, he found them, and set them out on the nearby table. He had gone back twice, once for plates and once for silverware. On his third trip for glasses, Regan noticed that Assana had gone unusually quiet. "We've been trying to outlast the humans for 70 years, like you said. And I don't think we've gotten anywhere...honestly, I think <C> 22:12:28 [Regan] <C> that we need to start fighting back. Show the humans that they can't beat us...and will have to change their ways yet again." 22:22:56 [Nadia`] "I agree with the kid, if they're outwardly attacking, we cannot just run." She'd hardly even noticed that she had already begun to count herself among them. Nadia could not help it, free spirit or no, people of her kind were in danger and she would be damned if she didn't help them with everything that she had. "I understand the need for caution but sometimes if you want to make an advancement you must throw caution to the wind. Yes, they're smart, but we'll just have to be smarter. They can think strategy, then we'll just have to stay a few moves ahead of them. There is always a risk of loss, but living the cautious life is almost as bad as living looking over your shoulder. Sure, you're just trying to keep yourself safe, but that's just surviving, that's not really living." Nadia could not understand it, the process of fearing another. It was not that she didn't understand fear for another, or the fear of loss, but the fear of others was not something that she had learned to have. Though she did not openly 22:23:15 [Nadia`] trust others either, she did not see a point in worrying on them. "If dropping to their level is what it takes, I say it's something that is to be done. And even oxygen masks will not work if their tubes and their masks begin to fill up with the water as well. You simply have to think outside of the triangle." 22:30:34 Assana listened to their lively discussions, remaining unnaturally silent. Her spoon came hard on the pan, the sound of wood hitting metal making a tinging noise as she listened. "It is my life, and I will live it how I choose." She said gently but firmly. She glanced at the two, to see if they would disagree. She shut the burner off, and walked to the table where the prepared dishes were. She spooned out the meal and placed a portion on each plate. She heard the activity in the city wispering through, and the smell of tantalizing food drifted out on the wind. She brought the pan back to the stove, with some food left over for whoever wanted it, and placed a cover on it to keep it warm. She walked over to the fridge, opening it. "Drinks?" She asked, changing the subject. She would wait to hear their preferences, and then she poured the drinks for each. She moved over to the table and slowly took a seat, pushing the chair in. She looked to each individually. "Bone apetite." She said with a smile. It was clear that 22:30:49 [Assana] at least for her, the discussion was over. What the two chose to talk about, was up to them. 22:35:06 [violetoxcity] Walking past a slightly opened door she hears the words speaking of there kind, with sudden interest she sits silently next to the door making a chair of the Ivy plant growing up the wall. She was right she hadn’t met any of her kind in a long while and as much as it frightened her she kept her distance, but it seemed these ones had a point and needed help. As the conversation stopped she smelt a smell that made her stomached growl loudly she hadn’t realized how she was so hungry. She smiled and knocked on the partially opened door waving her hand over to the seat flattening the leaves to the wall once more. She hoped she would not intrude “hello” she said softly. |
