Welcome to the Mapper's Guild!
We have several rules you must stick to in order to keep your account and continue to use the forums. Breaking these rules can result in loss of your account. Usage of these forums is not a right.
Rule 1 - No Offensive, Pornographic, or Hateful Images or Language Posts that contain images or language that can be deemed offensive or pornographic will be deleted and you will be given a large warning. Posting offensive or pornographic content again will result in a 2 week ban. Ban time will be increased each time, with no more warnings. Hateful language and content (flaming) can result in continual warnings and bans. After several warnings you will be banned for a day and warnings reset. After continual bans, your ban time will increase significantly.
Rule 2 - No Blatant Hostile Activity Against Another Site or Community Hostile Activity against other sites and communities (raiding, trashing, etc.) will result in an immediate warning or ban depending on severity. In case of raids or other attacks against a site, the administrators will be informed of your IP, username, and any information pertaining to the attack. Ban times can vary from upwards of day bans to permanent loss of account.
Rule 2a - Attacks Against This Community Will Be Prevented If we are informed or aware of an attack against our own site, your IP will be banned and the site will begin to stop suspected users from registering. Also, if hacking is suspected, your IP and relevant information will be reported to higher authorities.
Rule 3 - Our Policy on Specific Groups Certain Groups, such as cults and gangs, are not promoted by the Mapper's Guild. However, we do not have authority to ban you. If, however, your actions result in harassing another user or breaking various rules, you will be banned. You will also recieve double warnings for publicly advertising violent or cult groups.
Rule 4 - Do Not Advertise We request that you do not advertise your site, company, organization, or other collection in someone else's thread. We also ask that you keep your advertisements to relevant forums. Disobedience will result in warnings and removal of the advertisement. If you are advertising a (not free) service or product, we request that you keep them relevant. You will be warned for breaking this rule.
Rule 4a - Absolutely No Abusive Advertisement of Business or Otherwise Many message boards and communities are used as an outlet for spam messages. If you are suspected of being a spam account or posting a spam message (a message advertising a service or business without description) you will be permanently banned on your IP, e-mail, and your account will be removed.
Rule 5 - Post relevant, constructive comments Please attempt to keep your posts relevant to a specific topic. Do not try to derail threads or lead it to a different subject. If you do so, your posts will be split or removed and you will be warned. If you suspect someone of derailing a thread, please report their post.
Rule 5a - Do Not Post Pointless Threads Posting pointless threads or messages that can be considered spam will result in them being removed and your account being warned or banned, with ban times varying on severity.
Rule 5b - Do Not Double Post Please refrain from double posting messages with no real intention. If you do double post by accident, edit one post to request removal or report it. You will not be warned for accidental double posts as long as you identify them yourself.
Rule 5b.1 - Do Not Bump Recently Posted Threads Some people will attempt to bump threads. If you bump a thread that has had its last post in under 24 hours you will be warned.
Rule 5b.2 - Do Not Bump Old Threads Bumping can be considered annoying at times. If the last post in a thread was posted over 2 weeks before, you will be warned.
Rule 5c - Use Search to Locate Relevant Threads Do not repost threads that have been posted within the last two weeks. Use the search feature to locate an older thread with the same topic. This will keep forums more organized. If you repost a thread, it will be locked and you will be warned.
Rule 6 - Administrator's Say Is Final Do not argue with Administrators. Unless the Administrator is being abusive or is wrong about a specific topic (in which case, correct them) or are debating, do not argue. Doing so will result in a warning.
Rule 6a - Do Not Reopen Closed Threads Threads are closed for a reason. Reopening them will result in a warning and your thread being locked.
