This is a historical section which tells players of events which have already happened. The section is posted in chronological order, so your own achievements may be added here in time. Preface The land was born, and after many hundreds of years the people began to celebrate its existence as they finally became aware. This was the time of Ashika. Ashika was a powerful entity who was said to have brought awareness to kings of kings, and so the land would flourish under her influence. The legend says that the land was connected then, in till Ashika fell into the mighty ocean, and all was ripped asunder. Whether this really happened or not, is often speculated by many wizards and scholars. In terms of the world, Avridal was creates second, so it is often revered as the middle and forgotten child. As it was easier for those of Rhokania [the first child], to get to Drunvel [the third child], and so the people had forgotten about it. In till the year following Ashika's descent, [Year 1 A.A.], Thardol, the greatest explorer and wizard of all the known world, came to Avridal after flying across the ocean. He is said to be the first one to discover Masis, and helped it evolve into what it is today, two decades later. He encountered the many shaman, who witnessed the falling of Ashika, and he also was one of the few people to meet Drake before the powerful man vanished into the world. Thardol came to Avridal before Pholis was even sending ships on its way, and then he left. The history told by the Shaman; the world was built by Ashika, or so the forest told them. The Shaman used to celebrate the mighty Goddess before she fell, which took many, many years. Then the Shaman were chased from the middle lands by the Sasdresna, or the people of the true gods, who thought that Ashika was a fallen god, something that should not be trusted, and they gave their light to a new set of gods and goddesses who would forever watch over their mighty kingdom. The Shaman who disliked this false praising, fled to the outer rim of Avridal and made many cities and watched in sorrow as their goddess died. Then once she was gone the beasts went mad with rage, and began to kill and hunt, and feast. What clearer sign could there be that the world needed their goddess back? Since the present day proclaims to be the twenty seventh year after Ashika's fall, the world is still changing quickly. Despite their differences, the Shaman and the Sasdresna both use the same calendar. There are Two months for each season. Winter's Wake - Often called Sekkel, from an older version of sickle, the land dies, the crops turn gray and the people hunger. Then when Midwinters day comes, the second cycle begins. Winter's Wane - The end of the storm, they call it Struma, for that purpose I suppose, the ice begins to thaw, the green sprouts from the darkness, and the people celebrate. The First Spring - The world begins to turn anew, Rundre, perhaps from the word around. Winter has met its end. The people think of all that is glorious, they celebrate life, and mourn death. The Refinement of Beauty - Agale is a word the people have used before, some wonder if it comes from A Gale, a strong wind, or if it is from the word elegant, the flowers are blooming. The Fire and Drought - Drysrund, the month of Midsummer, a happy time and a time of great heat. The burning star, the sun that sends fire to the world. The water is sparse. From the words dry and sun. The Time of First Harvest - The people often began to harvest during this time of Haveran, though it is quite early for some customs, it was a previous standard. The first of the food to survive Sekkel is here. The Trees Turn Red - The the leaves begin to dip into their fiery tones, and they fall to the ground in the time of Ciperst, which comes from the word crisp. The Last Harvest - The people gather what they have and have one final celebration in Lavatka. The current date is: The 27th year After Ashika has fallen into the Ocean. The 33rd day of Struma Edited by Ryan Kuringa, Mar 15 2010, 06:04 PM.

The history of Drake The Hardened man came from the ground, some say, though according to Thardol, the great explorer of the world, tells us that Drake came from a powerful house in Drunvel, and that is why he came, in search of the land unsettled, and he built from the apparent, uninhabitable land, a brilliant country which only Sasdresna has matched in size and power. Not only was Drake a powerful man, from a powerful family, his friends and allies were also extremely powerful. He gained support rapidly, and began to grow and advance as he built one city after another. Though there used to be quarreling tribes among the people of Northern Avridal, Drake settled their disputes single handedly, and built a community from those who already existed there. Then at the time nearing the end of his life, he delved into the Erding and vanished. The capital city, Bayaku, is named after Drake's first, and proper name. Bayaku Drake. The other cities were named after those closest to Drake. His wolf companion Frundis, his wife Camille, and his friend Sidium. All who are now dead and gone through time. Drake Country has been around for only sixty years, so it had come during a time while Ashika was still around, though she was probably diving into the ocean. Drake lived for an incredibly long time. [Some legends to that there]. In accordance to the lore, the Sasdresna were already building by the time Drake arrived at the solitary community known as Pholis [just as they hadn't started sending ships in till after Ashika left]. So here we now are at the start of a timeline. I shall post the dates During Ashika as D.A. and After as A.A, though there is a time known as U [unknown years] some people speculate that there are at least five years for Ashika to have rightfully fallen into the ocean.] 250 D.A - The Shaman began to celebrate the Goddess and all she had done for them. There are historical records of this, dating to this time as a universally accepted time when the celebrations began. The lands were unsettled for the most part aside from the scattered tribes, who kept to themselves. 267 D.A - Masis begins to build as a mining community, under the influence of a mysterious entity they call Saa. 300 D.A - The Sasdresna first appeared coming from the Western Bay. They are of Rhokania, passing through Drunvel and coming to Avridal as a surprise, they stayed after exhausting their resources. The time of their arrival is approximate. 305 D.A - The Pholis tribe begins to take on significance, as Drake begins to cross into the lands with his own expedition. 315 D.A - Sasdresna begins to obtain power, and the first of the Shaman exodus begins. 325 D.A - Ashika begins to fall into the ocean. 333-? D.A - Drake finishes his work, the Shaman move into Shurgin, the Saa vanishes into the depths of the Erding.... 1-5 U - The Sasdresna establish their own system of religion and complete the first of the holy scriptures. They stop their militant expansion suddenly, and without warning, before getting into any contact with Drake or Pholis. 1 A.A - Thardol comes to Avridal to complete his survey of the world. Shortly after, Drake vanishes into the world. Present day. [[If I have missed anything please let me know. You may now begin as you please...to fill in whatever gaps you wish...]] |
