Does anyone know a good source of old fashioned seeds that can be saved from year to year? Is anyone in our group knowledgeable on this? Here is an article about Monsanto (there are many of them) and how they are trying to monopolize the seeds. Obama has appointed someone from Monsanto as his new food czar, so this could get much worse - no seeds, no food! http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/03/07/monsantos-many-attempts-to-destroy-all-seeds-but-their-own.aspx |

Many of the seeds at your feed store are "heirloom" varieties. I would look at a website offering these seeds and note the name, then buy from locals. Here is a previous discussion on it; http://s1.zetaboards.com/MS_Prep_Project/topic/1389360/1/#new http://s1.zetaboards.com/MS_Prep_Project/topic/1715277/1/#new |

Thankfully, Coops still exist in the rural area's. We went to a Coop less than a 5 miles from us and was surprised to find any variety of seeds you wanted. Veg to Fruit. 3 years of ALL veg and fruit for less than $20. All high quality seeds from reputable sources that supply feed stores and coops. |
