information provided by BC of Terry, MS -- Items are left in the dehydrator all night, then run it on low for another 1/2 hr, just to get it brittle-dry. Note: the item may already be brittle dry, if so, no need for extra 1/2 hr, this depends on thickness of pieces. Use Large ziplocs, and refrigerate or freeze temporarily, until finished. The next step is to snip it into bits with poultry shears. You can use large SHARP scissors. Note: if sharp scissors are used, hand may get tired. The last step in preparing the ingredients is to throw the snips of jerky into the food processor and pulverize it pretty well. It will look fluffy and be lighter colored. |
