This topic is for discussion of any farm animal related ideas. I have raised several cows over the years and have enjoyed a freezer full of grass fed beef until time to slaughter the next cow the next year. While this requires a lot of work the reward is great.

Even city dwellers can help provide meat for their families. Check with your city hall and see if there is a restriction on chickens. With just 2 or 3 hens you can have eggs and meat.

Yes mam, and in my experience one needs a REAL good fence to keep the carnivorous Knines etc., out!

I wish I had any of the above so I could tell the FDA to kiss my grits!

OK, I'm shivering with excitement!

We got a milk goat Tuesday and I already have 2 gallons of milk.

I feel like Forrest Gump;
goat buttermilk, goat sour cream, goat ricotta, goat yogurt, goat mozzerella, feta cheese, goat mascarpone, goat neufchâtel, goat butter.

Whew, I gotta get busy! :D

Not my girls! They listen better than children.

We had to give Jerry Wayne (Boer buck) away because we couldn't eat him.

But if we got hungry enough...hmm..... ^o)
