http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/default.stm This is bound to be ignored due to the world cup. But so far we've had Federer almost get knocked out in the first round, and Andy Murray meet the queen. However. What IS on everyone's lips is the on-going Mens single between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut. This match is in it's fifth set and has been going for ten hours, longer than the previous longest match in a grand slam, and only retired last night due to bad lighting. In fact, the current set, at 59 games to 59 games is longer than the previous record and caused the scoreboard to break at 47-47! This was a court 18 match too, not centre court or court one. Court 18, they're seeded low, and they've managed to get into a second day of play. Screw your football, this bloody long match is where it's at :V Current: 61-62 to Isner in the 5th set. |
