The next Megaman series, how would you do it?

I figured this may be interesting for some, including me. How would you do the next Megaman Series? After all, Capcom would most likely only go so far until they try and milk Megaman with ANOTHER series of games (sometimes in fluctuating quality). How would you do the story, the gameplay, whatever, go nuts!

...I'll post mine up, soon. When I'm not so lazy.

This definitely isn't where I see things going, but this is just something I'd like to see.

Basically, I really liked Command Mission, the RPG, and I really liked Battle Network with the chip system, so I think it would be cool to see a tactical RPG type game that utilizes cards, sort of like Metal Gear Acid but with more RPG and real time elements. I haven't really fleshed out the idea yet beyond that, mostly because I never actually thought about it in any depth until just now. When I come up with more ideas for it I'll post it up.

As for the story, they've already covered technology about as far as it goes in any given direction; they have robots, which became artificial intelligence, which then became nearly indistinguishable from humanity (Megaman ZX), and then there was legends which I haven't played so I don't really know what that's about.
Then on the other spectrum they have the network with what is basically a digital version of a robot, and then instead of going with digital artificial intelligence they went with digital life-forms, which I suppose is basically the same thing, but then that also covered aliens, and then they also covered wireless technology and even space with that.

So basically what I'm saying is, is that technology has already been done. I've had this idea for awhile that I've been thinking about integrating into a story of mine, where basically its an alternate reality in which metaphysics is actual scientific law, and because there are so many metaphysical models of reality, there would basically be an overlapping multiverse within a single universe structure.

So instead of robots or digital robots, artificial intelligence or digital aliens, you would have beings that exist as physical embodiments of metaphysical principles. In this way metaphysics would be their programming. I suppose there would be the first series, in which they are essentially robots that function under a static set of rules, and then there would in the next series be a more evolved form in which their metaphysical programming is more fluid and adaptive, and this would be the equivalent of artificial intelligence.

Beyond that I have no idea really where this would go, I'll have to think about it more.

Yeah, I enjoyed Command Mission (Even if half the game was lifted from Final Fantasy X). That said, we've already seen what's going to happen for the near future. We're going to toss all the storybuilding and graphics aside to try and make 8-bit Megaman games with all the insane technology of the modern time. And as someone who remembers a time when Megaman (The original game) was cutting edge, this stuff is insane.

Yeah, Moonlai's got a point - Once Wizards hit, the Star Force universe is about two steps from the technological singularity, between Real Waves and Wizards - how long before everyone is megamerged artificially? And assuming an exponential growth in processing power and development, the limit of Wizards will keep increasing, and they've already basically accomplished creating real objects from virtual data - given enough time they'll basically have that universe nailed down tight.

...Actually, I wonder if you couldn't set an interesting story in a world that's already hit the singularity?

Looking at the gaming industry as it stands, as much as I enjoyed the nostalgia that's been created by megaman 9 and 10, the franchise honestly needs to step up if it wants to start competing for shelf space again. I agree with Ari that I thoroughly enjoyed Command Mission and I would love to see another -esque game.

With that said. If I had creative license over the franchise, I would honestly love to take the cusomization aspect that we have been given in the Battle Network and Command Mission games and place it with the Star Ocean/Late Final Fantasy Real Time Combat.

Over the years of playing the games how many people haven't already written about, drawn, and/or sprited their own fan reploids, net navis ect.

Those are my thoughts for now,
