Rules of Engagement; Combat Rules with a cool name.

THE RULES OF COMBAT:

Four words minimum per line. This will increase roleplay and stop the needless bitching for "Spam" or things of the sort. Anything under four words will not be counted, and is liable to be ignored during a fight.

FIGHTING WITH BLUNT OR SHARP WEAPONS:

In order to actually fight with a sword or a hammer, one must take it out and have it ready. To fight with a sword or hammer, please take it out first.

EXAMPLE:

Quote:
 
*Sends hands to my side sheathe*
*Takes out my warhammer to my front*


The weapon must be taken out before contact can be made, or else said contact is void.
A good example of a fair kill with a sword or hammer is:

Quote:
 
*Sending my right hand above my shoulder to my sheathe*
*Grabbing the hilt of the blade*
*Pulling the sword out to my front*
*Then Slicing into the mans head*
*Ripping the flesh with the sword*
*Ripping the muscle with the sword*
*Ripping the skull with the sword*
*Ripping the brain with the sword*
*Exiting the brain, reaching the other side of the skull*
*As the sword exits the head*


That was a good ten line kill. All kills must be ten lines for hammers or swords, or weapons of the sort.

FIGHTING WITH ARCHERY OR RANGED WEAPONS:

The same rules apply in terms of taking out the weapon. The bow and arrow must be taken out and loaded.

Quote:
 
*Sending my hands to my back*
*Grabbing my bow with my hands*
*Pulling it to my front*
*Sending my hands to my sides*
*Grabbing an arrow out of the quivver*
*Placing the arrow into the bow*
*Pulling the string back of the bow with the arrow in it*


That is a good way to load a bow validly. Use this as a template to train range with if needbe. In order to take out a target, you must aim. Also, at a specific area.

Quote:
 
*Aiming the bow at Mike's head*
*Then, releasing the string on the bow, the arrow flies at the target*
*The arrow slams into Mike's head with much force*
*The flesh rips and splatters at the ground upon impact*
*the muscle splatters across the walls of the house upon impact*
*the skull shatters when it comes into contact with the fast moving arrow, leading into the brain*
*the shattered skull flies into the brain, ripping it out of the dome of the skull*
*the skull shatters out with pieces of the brain to the other side of the head*
*Mike falls onto the floor with a gaping hole into his head*
*he looses all brain function and cannot do anything else*


That is a good kill with a bow, Mike's perm dead.

Magical Combat:

Although magic is universally able to be used, it can only be used defensively untill tought by a master of a certain type of magic. There are several types of magic;

Apothecary

Illusion

Alchemy

Elemental

Arcane


At the start of the game, your character can only use it's aura to sheild from magical attacks or phyiscal attacks. Magic can always fail. For example

Quote:
 
*Sending my hands to Doug, face is very angry when I do this*
*Sending my aura around my hands, preparing my magic*
*Then a fireball forms in my hands now, with my aura*
*As the fireball launches at him*
Doug: *The Fireball fails to hit me, as it disperses before contact*


Dodging attacks:

All attacks in the game can fail. For example, if a man tried to stab you, you can simply say *The stab misses me* before he lands contact.
All attacks can be dodged, including avoiding aim from arrows or ranged weapons. *Aims the bow at Doug* can be avoided by *he looses his aim at me while I move* but then again, if you say *as I aim at him while he moves* the hit can still be validated. Armor applies for contact, but does not void hits. One must then simply rp hitting past the armor. No armor is weapon or projectile or magic proof.
