Wayne's cabin up in Mt. Raleigh is a medium sized one. Other than the main living room, it has a small kitchen a bath room and a bedroom.

Lily gave a small sigh of relief as he let go of her cheek but it did not last long, because the next moment he was just far closer than she had ever expected them to be. He was so close that when he spoke she could feel his breath against her. She closed her eyes as another clap of thunder rumbled louder and a gust of wind picked up around the cabin. It was too much, she’d never been this close to another human being. She’d suppressed her magic for far too long, she didn’t know how to cope with all the mixed feelings she was having, she didn’t even know what half the feelings were! She didn’t know how familiar with magic Wayne was, in her village her family had been the only magical ones. And within the village her parents had be loved and respected. But outsiders had not been kind to her parent’s magic.

Both possessed magical abilities, though different from each other’s. Her mother was adept at water and earth elements while her father was adept with fire and wind elements. And while they both possessed opposing elements, they also complimented each other. They had been the village’s guardians…. Until they died. Until they had been betrayed from within, until they had be found by those seeking a secret that was not meant for others to find.

She had discovered her own elements at an early age, and much like her parents, her magic was tied to her emotional state of mind. Though her parents were skilled and such was no problem. She had never been given the chance to train much, her mother had been killed before she had even finished her novice’s training. She knew more or less how to use her magic, but she had not yet learned how to block it from her emotions. Not always. Like now, she was a mess, and she was creating a mess outside. She let out a small sigh.

It was not the right time, to tell Wayne this. Not now, not like this. What if he thought the same way other people had thought of her? A witch, an evil sorceress, what if like others he disliked magic? Witch Eyes, some had called her, because of her unnatural eye color. She still carried the X mark on the palm of her left hand that she had been branded with a month after she’d fled her village. She’d been caught, by the hunters after her, and they’d branded her as a form of torture, fortunately, she’d managed to escape quite shortly after… before they found out anything… before they saw anything. “Yeah…” She whispered finally, remembering that he’d actually spoken and she owned him some sort of reply. Though that wasn't much of a reply.

Wayne pulled back slightly, again sensing a short of a disturbance with his increasing proximity to her. He didn't know if he was just making her uncomfortable or if there was something else entirely. While he had some rudimentary knowledge of magic through second-hand stories that he had heard over the years, he had never actually seen it. As such, he had not real inclination as the effect that he was having on her. However, he was getting a feeling from somewhere inside that something more then her just being uncomfortable was going on.

In terms of his own ability, Wayne had never even actually considered whether or not it was a magical ability. It required no incantations or any sort of materials in order to activate, and since he had mastered his ability, it came to him just like a thought. Indeed he had to learn very fast not to just randomly engage by seeing a place of interest near-by and desiring to go there. That was what had led to the start of the trouble when he had been a royal knight. Soon after, there were people discussing what they had seen and coming up with all sorts of crazy stories, some of which were far more ridiculous then Wayne had thought rational people were capable of coming up with.

He soon had left the knighthood, which was easier then one would have thought. The royalty had finally become convinced that he was planning on using his ability to usurp the throne for himself. He didn't even understand where this actually came from, but people can become crazy over things they don't understand. They had tried to kill him, but he simply blinked away. As long as his mind was free, he would be capable of getting away from anywhere. Soon after, he had begun to train his ability so that he would have more control over it, to the point where it was only in the most unusual circumstances the he accidentally blinked.

He sighed as he pulled slightly further back, still getting the sense that he had overstepped his boundaries with her and as a result, was making her uncomfortable. "S-sorry Lily....." he stammered then trailed off, his voice slightly uneasy. He removed his hand from hers so that if she so wanted, she would no longer have any direct contact with him

Lily sighed heavily, he had the wrong impression of things of course. How could he not? He didn’t know her, he probably didn’t know much about magic, or didn’t even consider wondering if she had any magic in her. Which was fine with her really, she did not want to be accused of something that she was not. She had to fix the situation somehow, why was it that she seemed to be forever fixing the situation with Wayne.

She was a bit confused because she didn’t know if she was happy that he’d retreated a bit, or if she was sad. She always seemed to be at one extreme or the other where Wayne was concerned. She found it rather peculiar. Though there was nothing peculiar about the rainless storm outside. She forced her breathing to even out and then looked in his direction, though she could not see much of him. “There’s nothing to apologize for.” She said softly, and there really wasn’t.

She closed her eyes and simply let go, for now at least. She had to stop fighting against whatever called her to him, whatever pulled her to him. She leaned closer to him and gently rested her head against his chest next to her hand. Thunder grew louder but thankfully, the wind died down a bit. She forced herself not to think, not to react, not to fight, not to resist. She simply let it be. How bad could it be?

Wayne was completely taken aback when he felt Lily lay her head on his chest next to her hand. He blinked a couple times, almost as if unsure that it was actually happening. Fortunately, he recovered his senses after a moment over too and sighed, though this was a content sigh, as there was nothing in this world that would happier then he was at that very moment. He brought one of his arms up and gently placed it around her figure, so as to hold her in place. In truth, he was somewhat unsure if he would ever be able to let her go. He was so caught up in the moment that he didn't even notice that the wind had seemingly died down outside, his attention instead absolutely focused on Lily.

He had certainly not been expecting this display of affection from her. It wasn't that he thought she didn't have feeling for him, no he knew (or at least he thought he knew) how she felt about him. It was simply up until this point, Lily had been somewhat more reserved showed in terms of affection that she showed him. However, this was a welcome change in Wayne's eyes.

As the thunder would clap again, his arms would tighten ever so slightly around her in an affectionate squeeze that mirrored that crashing crescendo of thunder that was occurring outside the cabins walls. He stared at the outline of her figure in the dark and as if her actions had helped him regain his confidence; he decided what it was that he wanted. His free hand traveled down to her chin, and ever so gently lifted it up so that her head would tilt up so as to face him. Despite the awkwardness of their positions, he managed to tilt his head towards hers in the dark. After what seemed like an eternity, he felt his lips brush against hers in a short but passionate kiss. It lingered for a moment before he pulled slightly back, so as to gauge her reaction.

Lily blinked as she felt the blush work up to her cheeks, she was glad it was dark. She continued to be surprised by the unexpectedness of Wayne’s actions, and hers for that matter. But she willed herself to remain as calm as it was humanly possible for her to be. Even then though, a fierce wind picked up and lashed at the cabin’s windows and roof while deafening thunder clattered above. She just couldn’t, there was no controlling her emotions right now. She didn’t even know what to make of her emotions as it was.

If it wasn’t for the very fact that her mother had confirmed that her two natural elements were wind and water she would’ve though she also contained fire, because at the moment, it was very hot. Though her hands became colder, rain. Soon the storm that was threatening to break loose would and it would pour and she would not be able to stop it. But Wayne had made no mention of the storm, nor her reaction to it. And that was either because he was completely unaware of the unnatural nature of the storm, or he’d never seen magic at work, elemental magic at least, or he was distracted enough not to notice.

Whichever it was, she was glad he was not questioning neither her, nor the storm. For now, she was almost sure though that if not tonight, then tomorrow there would be questions. There was always questions. Again, forcing herself to not think about anything in particular she drew herself to him and kissed him lightly at first, then not being able to really help herself she prolonged the kiss a bit longer before drawing back, “Goodnight Wayne.” She whispered in his ear and kissed his cheek then turned around and laid back down with her back to him and drew the blankets to her chest and forced herself to breathe evenly. If she was lucky she could gain control of her magic before it rained too much.

It was harder than she thought… staying away from him. But she decided she’d put herself under enough turmoil for one night. She didn’t know if she was ever going to conceive sleep that night, he was still close, though no longer touching. Again she wondered what she’d gotten herself into, and how it would affect her. The fact still remained that she did not want to involve Wayne in her troubles. But to walk away from him might prove harder to do than she was willing to admit. For the time being though, she laid those worries aside as she focused on the receding storm outside. She really had to resume her training on controlling her magic. It could not go unchecked for too long…

Wayne lay there in the dark, staring out the windows at the storm after she had resumed her position laying next to and facing away from him. Having kissed her and having her kiss him back, it had left his mind in somewhat of a daze. She had whispered "Goodnight Wayne," into his ear, which he whispered back as she had moved away from him. However, with the storm now raging outside, he doubted that she had even heard him.

The storm in and of itself was strange, and it had seemingly come out of nowhere. In fact, the more Wayne thought about it, the less it made sense to him, especially since the storms intensity seems to almost mirror whatever it was Lily had been doing with him. He turned his head to face her, only the faintest details of her outline were visible in the darkness. He thought for a moment, wondering if her and the storm were somehow mentally connected. After a few moments, he shrugged mentally and turned to lay on his back. If that was indeed the case, he would certainly not think any less of her. If anything, his own particular gift made him the perfect person to understand, especially why she may not have readily revealed herself. He decided to think about the subject anymore as he closed his eyes, and only thought of how this beautiful woman was sharing his bed with him. Feeling a level of comfort that even he wasn't used to, sleep soon came to Wayne.......

Lily sighed quietly when she heard Wayne’s breathing finally slow down to a rhythmic pace that meant he’d fallen asleep. She almost envied him the ease in which he’d fallen asleep, almost. She was far more grateful that he’d fallen asleep rather quickly. In that way she could finally ease some of her tension, and in doing so slowly willed the storm to seize.

By the time she had finally gotten the storm to dissipate she was tired, in more ways than one. She had not had to exert this kind of concentration in a very long time. She had gotten used to being on her own, and being on her own wasn’t exactly emotionally challenging. It was something she was accustomed to. So she had learned to suppress her magic… most of the time at least. Like anything even her magic needed an outlet every now and then, or it would be disastrous if she ever lost control. Like she did tonight, though she had not lost all control.

Unfortunately she only saw two solutions for her, either walk away and leave Wayne, or get used to being close to him. She wasn’t sure she could accomplish either, not easily. But she would have to chose an option and stick to it. She sighed heavily, she was simply not good when people were concerned.

In the end, it had been about three hours before dawn when Lily finally gave in to exhaustion and fell into a dreamless sleep.
