You make this assertion, yet you do not back it up with any evidence whatsoever. There is evidence, on the other hand, that al Qaeda is not at all fictional. What we know about the planning and execution of the 9/11 attacks evidences an organizational hierarchy. If al Qaeda does not exist, who were coalition forces fighting in Tora Bora? Is al Qaeda the highly structured, supremely dangerous organization that much of the media makes it out to be? Probably not. Is al Qaeda more of a movement and ideal than strict organization? Probably. Can we conclude that there is no group of individuals fighting under and with bin Laden and al-Zawahiri that are referred to by themselves and others as al Qaeda? Hell no. |

Remember the Detriot terrorist cell they captured....Listen to their defence lawyer.
Think of this way, there are lots of terrorists around the world with different goals, they can be classed as Al-Qaeda or linked to them in some manner, but Al-Qaeda exists but it is not a terrorist organisation, it is a name to sell fear. Taliban mainly, they were then accused of being Al-Qaeda. Of to Gitmo, no trial.....Hence so many are being released without charge. I would have to agree. For the simple reason, the war on terror is pissing off muslim nations with our occupation of their lands. So they will always be people willing to fight for their cause! The insurgents in Iraq who want the US out....are they AQ? Or are they just an organisation or groups that wants the US out? Because there was no/little AQ in Iraq pre 9/11 for the simple fact OBL and Saddam didn't like each other much They have created a monster so to speak. Isn't that amazing, something we can agree on!
