I know much of the steel was taken away from Ground Zero before it could be analysed, but is there any forensic evidence of explosives having been used to demolish the WTC? Thanks |

Start at the bottom of page 69. - http://www.journalof911studies.com/volume/200704/JonesWTC911SciMethod.pdf You may also want to ask how it got hot enough to cause this. - http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/IMAGES/9-11guns/ One * possible * explaination can be found here. - http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5532449-description.htm A metalurgacal study of those guns would be extremely helpful IMO. Of course I am assuming that you immediately discount the multitude of video and audio recordings which occured that day. |

Hi JFK, Thanks for the links. Actually no. I don't discount the video and audio recordings and eye-witness accounts from that day. In my opinion, they are conclusive proof that explosives were used to bring the towers down. It's just that I feel I need to expand my knowledge base into the next obvious field of inquiry and that's the forensic end of this. Thanks again JFK JFK, this link you posted is broken http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5532449-description.htm I think you meant for the link to go here http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5532449-description.html Edited by brinks, Feb 17 2008, 01:13 PM.

You are welcome.... And thank you for correcting that link. If I remember correctly, 911eyewitness had a rather detailed distance corrected sound vs video which was compelling, but not enough to "bank" on.... IMO. http://www.911eyewitness.com/ But there are also allegations that Rick is "working for the other side"... I make no judgement on that. There are several youtube videos also in which you can hear and observe reactions to the explosions... I do not have those links handy. perhaps someone else would like to input those here ?

NIST FAQs have the answer Brink. ![]() 12. Did the NIST investigation look for evidence of the WTC towers being brought down by controlled demolition? Was the steel tested for explosives or thermite residues? The combination of thermite and sulfur (called thermate) "slices through steel like a hot knife through butter." NIST did not test for the residue of these compounds in the steel. Says it all really! ![]() Cheers Stundie |

Really? Wonder why they never use it in demolitions then. |

This is copy pasted from a post from DemolitionDave: Why single out CDI when a lot of demolition companies use thermite? But here is the list you asked for. Some of these are CDI jobs, some aren't. Federal Reserve Bank, Boston MA. Thermite was used to prepare the structure for explosives demolition (CDI) BOF Buildings Buffalo, NY 2 building by 2 seperate contractors. Corbett Building Portland, OR (CDI) Eastalco Baltimore (CDI) Edgar Thompson Works Braddock, PA (CDI) Beth Steel Sparrows Point MD Furnaces A-D (Cdi) Riverton Power Station Ft. Royal, VA (CDI) USX Duquesne McKeesport PA Hanna Furnace Hanna PA Unloading Crane Norwich UK Is that eough or do you want me to keep listing them? Heck, even the 205' tall section of the NE corner of WTC building 1 was dropped by using thermite -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by DemolitionDave : 30th March 2008 at 08:27 PM. |

Well that's really useful. A list of names and no other information. I tried googling and came up with zero. Next! |

Because there are safer and easier ways to cut steel for normal uses. However, they do use thermite to weld railroad tracks. They make a mold around the two pieces they want to put together. Set off the thermite and the metal melts very nicely. Once the reaction quits, the metal will cool down and you have a welded piece of track. |

Forensic Evidence? Shouldn't you ask the FBI, or NIST, or NTSB, or DOJ, or .... To date the Bush Government has refused to look at or consider evidence that explosives were used in any of the attacks. |
