Speaking as a UK citizen. And we get very good coverage of the US presidential elections. The consensus here is astonishment as to why Sarah Palin would be even considered for high office.
Her views and general ignorance come over as just plain offensive.

I estimate that something like at least 70% of British people seem to be "delighted" by Obama's election. The fact that a dignified, well educated man with excellent oratory makes us feel that at last someone capable of the task has arrived.

Most of us were also completely baffled as to why would anyone ever vote for George W Bush. He comes across as a complete fool.

In Bush's latest pronouncements and doings, it seems to me that he can't get out of there quick enough. He'll be able to go back to his ranch and cut trees down again. Something he is better qualified for!

People are afraid of the unknown. Yet, they are quick to jump on the bandwagon of people questioning his birth certificate, his religion, his skin color.

Seriously, the press will not even TALK about 9/11. The anti Obama crowd would do themselves a favor if instead of worrying about his birth certificate they would worry about the 9/11 cover up.

This reminds me of a FARK headline:

Because USA has solved all problems from homelessness, hunger, poverty, healthcare, and economics, they have decided to move on to bigger problems. Is Obamas birth certificate legitimate?!

And I'm a loon for thinking that Bristol Palin is about to have her second baby... for thinking that 9/11 was an inside job.

I am going to make a million dollars the day that I can invent a webpage that turns your monitor into a mirror.

Um, Im not sure how well your views will go down in this forum...
I think people should give him a couple of years in office before they lynch him :P

What do people think is a reasonable timeframe 2 or 3 years?
Do you feel the same way if McCain would have won?
Probably not because McCain came across as yet another warmonger.

Obama has ordered the closure of the Gitmo; thats a step in the right direction eh?
Announced troop withdrawal dates from eeraaak

What else has he done in under a couple of months?

Bushes plan was to withdraw troops by 2010 yet it goes under the radar. Yet Obama brings out the same plan, everyone loves him for it? Two sides to the same coin guys wake up!

It was hardly Bushes plan. The Iraqi people want us out. Can't say I blame them.
