I dont understand why if flight United 93 was shot down that the goverment didnt use it as propaganda. I mean woulndt it be better to say "hey we had to shoot it down, we did you a favor" "Help me Dr Zaius" 31st M.E.U. |

They needed a "feel good" story. In a day with so much misery the whole story of the heroes of flight 93 gave the public a badly needed boost. Think Jessica Lynch here. The initial story that came out was that her group was attacked and she fought bravely, shooting until her gun jammed, then stabbing an Iraqi with her knife before being taken captive. Then she was tortured, raped, shot, starved, etc. until our oh so brave troopers descended on the rooftop of the heavily fortified enemy hospital camp, and rescued the brave warrior maiden under heavy fire, blah, blah, blah. Very little of it was true, but it was a heroine feel good story they hoped to pass off on the public. In the case of Flight 93, there was no one alive to dispute the "hero story" so the whole thing stood as it was told on those first days. Given the general unreliability of such rumor-based tales, it's unlikely things went down quite like we've been led to believe. |

a shoot down would have warrented a real investigation. we all know how much bush and cheney were in favor of the idea of a 9/11 investigation now aren't we? |

While I don't know what really happened with this aircraft, It seems to me that military was in chaos on 9-11 and whetever did happen was probably the result of an enormous cock up. At times I have suspected that the flight was shot down, or that the damage on the ground at shanksville was due to missiles shot from a military aircraft to make it look like an airliner crashed there. In summary there is too little evidence available for sceptical members of the public to make their mind up. It is possible that we might have to await memoirs of military personel to be published after they died. Might take 40+ years for this story to be completely revealed. It seems to me that the basis of the official version of events with this one is as likely to be true as any other theory. |
