Debate Flashback: McCain blasts Mayors and Governors as unprepared for President
By: SilentPatriot @ 7:00 PM - PDT

My, what a difference a desperate and politically cynical choice for VP makes.

“I have had a strong and a long relationship on national security, I’ve been involved in every national crisis that this nation has faced since Beirut, I understand the issues, I understand and appreciate the enormity of the challenge we face from radical Islamic extremism. “I am prepared. I am prepared. I need no on-the-job training. I wasn’t a mayor for a short period of time. I wasn’t a governor for a short period of time.”

Extra amazing considering McCain said this just last night at the Presidential Forum on Service: (h/t Kos)

“Listen, mayors have the toughest job, I think, in America. It’s easy for me to go to Washington and, frankly, be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have.”

Wow. Not only does McCain completely reverse himself on the experience gleaned from serving as mayor, he admits that it’s easy for him to be “divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have.”

Is that double-irony you're using?

Because that's what it'll be in the end... the two biggest real estate owners paid for by the people, but eventually privately owned again, if at all.

Whenever you hear/read 'the state will pay for it' you can be sure that part of your salary is deducted soon for that special purpose.

Guess why the stock exchange markets reacted positively...

...and still nobody holds the US government accountable for the uber-huge gap in its household euphemisticially described as 'debt' ...
Man, if only our banks were full of Jewish gold like you guys...

YouTube Removes Viral Video on Palin’s Churches For Inappropriate Content
By: Nicole Belle @ 3:00 PM - PDT

Sarah Palin's Churches and The Third Wave from Bruce Wilson on Vimeo.

Talk To Action:

Sarah Palin was baptized at Wasilla Assembly of God and attended the church for over two and a half decades, and she has been publicly blessed by a number of pastors and religious leaders employed by and associated with that church.

Last Sunday our research team released a video, a ten-minute mini-documentary, focusing on the Wasilla Assemblies of God and the video seemed on the verge of a massive “viral” breakthrough when YouTube pulled it down, citing “inappropriate content”.

At the point the video was censored by YouTube it had been viewed by almost 160,000 people. The short of it is that YouTube has censored a video documentary that appeared to be close to having an effect on a hard fought and contentious American presidential election. Read on…

From the research team that made the international viral video hit that in May 2008, according to the New York Times (and a wide range of other media including the LA Times, The Wall Street Journal, AP, the Dallas Morning News, CNN and MSNBC) forced Senator John McCain to renounce the political endorsement of Texas megachurch Pastor John Hagee, also head of Christians United For Israel. The 3:40 video featured an excerpt from a late 2005 sermon, broadcast internationally and sold by Hagee's ministry as a DVD, in which Hagee stated that "God sent a hunter - Hitler was a hunter" and suggested the divinely appointing mission was to drive Europe's Jews to Palestine because that was, according to Hagee, "God's top priority".

( NYT story : http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/23/us/... )

Documentation for the "Palin's Churches and The Holy Laughter Anointing" video, along with articles on the religious doctrines held at at least 3 of four out of Palin's Alaska churches, please see : http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008...

See the first video in the series, Palin's Demon Haunted Churches (removed by YouTube) at http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008...

From the research team that brought you Palin's Demon Haunted Churches and John Hagee's sermons. ( currently hosted at : http://www.vimeo.com/1264130 )

Palin's Demon Haunted Churches, also listed as Sarah Palin's Churches and the Third Wave (currently removed by YouTube for reasons unknown to the researchers) focused on the links
between Wasilla Assembly of God and leaders and organizations of the Third Wave or New Apostolic Reformation, including Morningstar Ministries. This movement is the resurgence of a heresy condemned by the General Council of the Assemblies of God in 1949 and again in
a resolution in 2000.

Palin's Churches and the Holy Laughter Anointing :

The new movie, Palin's Churches and the Holy Laughter Anointing, focuses on Juneau Christian Center, formerly Bethel Assembly of God, and the pastor's relationship with Rodney Howard-Browne. Howard-Browne is the world leader in the anointing of Holy Laughter but also a fierce proponent of the Third Wave's belief that they must take over the United States and the world before the end times.

When in residence in Juneau, Sarah Palin has chosen to attend Juneau Christian Center as documented by the church, and by the Alaska Assemblies of God state newsletter, Alaska Update.

Rodney Howard-Browne is recognized worldwide as the source of Holy Laughter anointing to revivals around the globe. He has become a central figure in the Third Wave, also known as
the New Apostolic Reformation, and is credited with bringing Holy Laughter to the Toronto Airport Blessing and the Lakeland Outpouring. Howard-Browne is also a long time associate of Mike Rose, senior pastor of Juneau Christian Center, formerly the Bethel Assembly of
God. Mike Rose has been the Alaska State Legislature Chaplain since 1994 and has espoused Christian nationalist sentiments since that date, when he offered the following prayer, May 5, 1994 on the AK Senate floor:

"Our society's rejection of biblical principles and truth has placed our country in spiritual and moral jeopardy. Our need for revival and renewal is great, but you said in
Your word, 'If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.' "

Munger also asked Palin if she truly believed in the End of Days, the doomsday scenario when the Messiah will return. "She looked in my eyes and said, 'Yes, I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime.'"

I said this when The Sheeple elected Bush.

If you believe in Armageddon, why on earth would you put somebody into office who also believes in Armageddon, and will do everything in their power to bring Armageddon to their lifetime?

Hopefully there are some Christians in America who will be shocked by the video and consider whether their representatives in government should be so zealous. I am constantly amazed at what goes on in churches across the world, but as I'm an Atheist, I expect them to wierd me out. This kind of ministry, however, takes it to a whole new level.

Can't figure out how this can be considered inappropriate by any stretch of the imagination. There must be some powerful people pulling strings to have it removed. Glad to see it's not being removed on other video sites, and also pleased that the boost it received from youtube will likely ensure it's successful dissemination.

Turnabout is fair play. Obama was ridiculed for the words of his pastor, unjustly in my opinion. Since Palin attended this church for over two decades, she is likely in agreement with it's philosophy. No, nothing un-American was uttered, but the level of insanity in that place brings her mental competence into question.

I'd hate to be in her five.

That's the irony. The so called true believers usually are the ones, who are afraid of everything. Which doesn't make sense, if you truly believe you're saved, what's there to be afraid of? But that would require rational thought and a large segment of the population would much rather believe in fairy tales instead of reality.

Interesting article today from the BBC about people's startle responses and their political beliefs:

Quote:

Political views 'all in the mind'

18 September 2008

Scientists studying voters in the US say our political views may be an integral part of our physical makeup.

Their research, published in the journal Science, indicates that people who are sensitive to fear or threat are likely to support a right wing agenda.

Those who perceived less danger in a series of images and sounds were more inclined to support liberal policies.

The authors believe their findings may help to explain why voters' minds are so hard to change.

In the study, conducted in Nebraska, 46 volunteers were first asked about their political views on issues ranging from foreign aid and the Iraq war to capital punishment and patriotism.

Those with strong opinions were invited to take part in the second part of the experiment, which involved recording their physiological responses to a series of images and sounds.

The images included pictures of a frightened man with a large spider on his face and an open wound with maggots in it. The subjects were also startled with loud noises on occasion.

"If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself."
- Kathleen Parker, "Palin Problem", September 26, 2008

:D This from a major Conservative!
Quote:

Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.

Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there’s not much content there. Here’s but one example of many from her interview with Hannity: “Well, there is a danger in allowing some obsessive partisanship to get into the issue that we’re talking about today. And that’s something that John McCain, too, his track record, proving that he can work both sides of the aisle, he can surpass the partisanship that must be surpassed to deal with an issue like this.”

When Couric pointed to polls showing that the financial crisis had boosted Obama’s numbers, Palin blustered wordily: “I’m not looking at poll numbers. What I think Americans at the end of the day are going to be able to go back and look at track records and see who’s more apt to be talking about solutions and wishing for and hoping for solutions for some opportunity to change, and who’s actually done it?”

If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself.

If Palin were a man, we’d all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she’s a woman — and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket — we are reluctant to say what is painfully true.

What to do?

McCain can’t repudiate his choice for running mate. He not only risks the wrath of the GOP’s unforgiving base, but he invites others to second-guess his executive decision-making ability. Barack Obama faces the same problem with Biden.

Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.

Do it for your country.
