He hasn't seen his father in years, since before 9/11 it would seem. It's all very well mocking his English or calling it bizarre, but the basic fact we need to know is that he's only been exposed to the same information about Osama that we have. I doubt he knows the truth, or even if his father's still alive. The US propaganda is the most likely source of his knowledge. |

Im not mocking it, merely stating that things he says could be misconstrued due to his broken english. |

I think his English is fine. I just don't think he's any more of an authority on Osama than most other people because he has gathered everything he knows from the same sources as us. It's a non-news story masquerading as a headline. |

It's certainly an odd interview. I extracted this portion. "My father is a very kind man. Very kind. And he very sorry when he do something like 11 September. [He did it] because he believed that he put these two buildings down maybe some people, a little, will die but millions of others will be saved, he believed that. I think he should be in Afghanistan. [Father and son have not spoken in 7 years but the bond remains] I can't [speak to him] only by this television. [when I see him on television] I feel uh hmm worry. [if I knew where he was] I would hide him..because he's my father." I notice the audio is very tightly edited. ABC News were clearly after sound bites. Who knows what they might have removed. It's never clear when Omar last spoke to his father and whether he's speaking from actual knowledge as to what is father, Osama, told him he did and felt, or whether Omar is conveying what he believes, based on his understanding of his father.
