In the last 48 hours, N.Y. Times best selling novelist, Steve Alten, author of, "The Shell Game," was recently shocked and dumbfounded that he’d become the victim of harassment, when someone not only put a map of his home and his personal private phone number and home address up on the internet, . . . but also either remotely accessed or intercepted personal private email between he and his publicist . . .

You know...if what we say is all lies and there is nothing to it...than this is nothing more than a simple work of fiction. Why do people get so angry and become so outrageous over a view that they think is completely false and nothing but a lie....this leads me to think it actually comes out of their subconscious fear that it may be true.

Hamlet Act 3, scene 2, 222–230 "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." comes to mind.

I really wonder why certain individuals and groups put so much time and effort into protesting that which they claim in forums only an idiot would treat seriously.

In this case they stop just short of burning a cross on fictional writer Steve Alten's front lawn?

It makes me think they fear the honest message of the supposed 'idiot truthers', and that these 'over reacting' skeptics are not quite the innocent patriots they pretend to be.
