Cool I can still edit! For anyone who doesn't know, this is one of the bigger smoking guns that something odd, at the very least, was up with our defenses on the morning of 9/11. Three people at three key spots in the defense chain of command should something like 9/11 happen; all first day on the job - on 9/11. My post on them. This falls under Pre-9/11' because all of these personnel placement decisions were made in the days and months before that 'fateful day' and all came to fruition that very morning. CJCS: The nation's top military officer, Charirman of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff - CJCS Shelton left for Europe that morning, leaving ACTING CJCS Gen Richard Myers, scheduled to take Shelton's job two days later, in charge. He's in pre-confirmation hearings on Capital Hill when the attacks happen - he claims not to have even known until just after the Pentagon was hit, and does not report to his battle station until 10:00, as the attack is ending. FAA Operations Manager: The top FAA guy with direct access to radar screens, the 'aiir traffic chess master.' Ben Sliney, w/little experience, takes the job in mid-2001, spends months preparing and starts his first day on 9/11. His response was slow-ish and confused, as shown in a separate post. NMCC DDO: Dep. Director of Operations at the National Military Command Center beneath the Pentagon, the military's nerve center in crisis, the SecDef's and CJCS' station in that case, and the hub for FAA requests for fighter assistance to be passed on. Navy Capt. Charles Leidig is asked on Sept. 10 to stand a portion of Montague Winfield's shift in the morning - 9/11 from 8:30-10:00. He agrees and takes the helm halfway between first hijacking and first impact, and turns it back over to Winfield just before the last plane crashes. Acting CJCS Myers arrives around then, then Rumsfeld (at the Pentagon the whole time, dinking around) arrives at 10:30 and FINALLY the national defense swings into action and the lingering shoot down order is passed on at 10:31. ![]() Does this not clearly seem beyond coincidence? Any questions? |
