Florence Alabama Police Charge Woman With Manslaughter After Giving Birth To Stillborn Child July 14th, 2008 FLORENCE ALABAMA - Florence police charged a woman with manslaughter Monday morning in connection with the death of her stillborn child. Jennifer Darlene Johnson, 30, was seven months pregnant when her baby was delivered deceased at Helen Keller Hospital Friday night. Investigators said medical personnel at Keller Hospital found the umbilical cord had been severed while still inside Johnson’s uterus, and that evidence indicates the death of the infant was directly related to that incident. The alleged act of severing the umbilical cord occurred at a friend’s house at Cherry Hill Homes in Florence.
