Police Investigate First Homicide in Disney Town
Updated: 18 hours 38 minutes ago

(Dec. 2) -- Investigators in Florida are trying to determine who committed the first reported murder in Celebration, a distinctly charming, close-knit town that was conceived and built by the Walt Disney Co.

"This is the first homicide that we have investigated in the town," Osceola County Sheriff's spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain told AOL News. "[We've seen] minor crimes, [like] criminal mischief, burglaries and other types, but not to the extent of a homicide."

According to The Associated Press, neighbors have been hesitant to share any personal details about Giovanditto, other than to say that he had moved to Florida from Massachusetts. At least one neighbor told WFTV News that Giovanditto lived a high-risk lifestyle but declined to elaborate.

Giovanditto, a former teacher and Massachusetts native, moved to Celebration from south Florida in 2004, according to the Sun Sentinel. A neighbor told the paper that Giovanditto was working as a psychologist for challenged youths, but that information could not be confirmed.

"In this neighborhood it's a rare occurrence for the Celebration community, and we are working this as an isolated incident," said Twis Lizasuain, Osceola County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Massachusetts is a well known for various connected psychological warfare operations locations thanks to the detailed Manifesto left by Ted Kacynski, the Unibomer.

Disney Town Sees Death for 2nd Time in Week
Updated: 1 hour 21 minutes ago

CELEBRATION, Fla. (Dec. 3) - Authorities were investigating another death Friday in the town Disney built just days after reporting its first homicide in its 14-year existence. This time it was a man who apparently killed himself after shooting at deputies.

Craig Foushee, 52, barricaded himself in a home Thursday for more than 14 hours, according to an Osceola County Sheriff's Office report. He shot at deputies several times, but deputies never returned fire because they were unable to acquire a target and no deputies were injured, authorities said.

Deputies entered the home early Friday and found him dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A man with Foushee's name on the networking website LinkedIn showed that in addition to being in the security business, he was a pilot for American Airlines for nearly 20 years and an Air Force pilot.

In a Facebook profile, a man with Foushee's name and the hometown of Celebration, Fla., is shown has having three daughters, who he described as "my treasures." The Facebook page also shows that in April, he posted that he "went from being married to single."

Photos also depict him at firing range where people are shooting guns and doing what he described as "convoy/motorcase IED-scenario training." One photo has the caption: "Dept. of Defense Pre-Ddeployment Tactical Training."

Arrest Made in Disney Town's First Homicide
Updated: 1 day 22 hours ago

(Dec. 6) -- A transient was arrested today in the first reported slaying in Celebration, a Florida town that was conceived and built by the Walt Disney Co.

David-Israel Zenon Murillo, 28, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Matteo Giovanditto, a Celebration resident who was killed over Thanksgiving weekend, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.

"[Murillo] was identified early on by detectives as a person of interest because his photo was located on the victim's computer, his fingerprints were found in the victim's condo and phone calls from a gas station close to where the victim's car was located were made by Murillo several hours after ... Giovanditto's death," the sheriff's office said in a statement to AOL News.
