I believe that the part of the movie which states that no steel from the WTCs was recovered is wrong. Actually, I know it is wrong. Someone close to me (he has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and has worked with some great chemists) knows a chemist who received a piece of the steel to analyze. I think there is an article about it floating around somewhere, I have to see if I can find it. (sorry for such generalizations, I heard about it last night and I am at work now). Anyway, I thought final cut was great, despite there being a few errors. Much better than the last edition. Good work. |

thank you for the constructive criticism... that variety is hard to come by. It shows you are a what we call a "real skeptic" as opposed to those who only critique Loose Change, and not the official story. I don't remember Dylan's exact words in that segment. I'll have to look it up and see if he said "no steel" or something different. We would really need to know who this chemist is to verify that he received a sample. For the most part though, it is accurate to state that the steel was whisked away as quickly as possible and was not tested for explosives. Welcome to the forum. |

Thank you for the warm welcome. ![]() I will do my best to find that person's name, and the article associated with him. Doing a quick google search, I found this (I don't believe this is the person that my chemist friend knows): http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2006/06/341238.shtml EDIT: Here is another journal paper that was published: http://www.springerlink.com/content/p42m41t753721442/ Edited by jnale10, Jun 30 2008, 02:36 PM.

thanks for the links. #1, is BYU Professor Steven Jones, an outspoken member of the 9/11 Truth movement. He obtained this from a memorial which contained some WTC steel. He was given this by a third party. In other words, the government did not give him the steel. #2, this is a synopsis of the NIST report, which comes straight from the government, not a private investigator looking at the government's evidence. So the main point of contention in LC is that the public was not allowed to examine the evidence and see if bombs or cutting agents like thermite (the apparent cause if physics is considered) might have been used on the steel, is entirely true. Non-government and non-gov-funded chemists/physicists have not had any steel made availalbe to study, and the only person who has obtained steel despite the information blackout, has found evidence of thermite residue. It's another case of deciding whether we trust the government (via NIST) or if we want to see if others agree with their findings. Also, some of the chief investigators in NIST responsible for investigating the buildings collapses are specialists with thermite and would be the top picks in the industry for trying to hide the evidence of thermite. NIST report = pre-determined conclusion with thousands of pages to make the conclusion seem valid. Make no mistake though, the conclusion was written first. |

Ah, I did not realize #2 was from NIST (I was just doing a quick google search). I will try to get in contact with my friend later tonight. The chemist he knows might work for the government (he is connected with some REALLY good chemists), but I am almost certain that the person he knows does not work with NIST (I brought up NIST when I was questioning him about this). More to come later (what a slow day at work!!!!) |
