Detenation Charges; Possible Building Standards

I've been wondering about this for quite awhile but, is it possible that detonation charges are set in buildings that should an incident occur that may endanger more lives, a building can be "pulled" in order to prevent neighboring property damage as well as further loss of life? I mean, we're talking about millions of dollars in property damage, possible lawsuits, etc. I'll be the first to admit that the idea sounds outlandish but I can see a logic to it.

No.

First, Skyscrappers aren't suppose to fail, even if there is a big fire.

Second, the added expensive and danger to rig buildings in such a way, just wouldn't be worth it for something that is unlikely to happen.

Third, explosives deteriorate and go bad over time, so even if you rigged a building when it was built, the system would not be reliable for very long.
