After throughly trashing the debunks at JREF I thought I might come over an assist in the research surrounding WTC 7. According to NIST NCSTAR 1-8 Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster: The Emergency Response Operations • There was no water immediately available for fighting the fires. • They didn’t have equipment, hose, standpipe kits, tools, and enough handie talkies for conducting operations inside the building. To debunk this particular fallacy I offer the attached photographs as well as a debunking video that shows firefighters spraying down WTC 5. First a debunker's video showing this apparent lack of water to fight the fires. It can be found at the 9/11 Video Resource Center Debunker Debunks NIST! In the second picture you can see the active fire fighting efforts against WTC 5 and 6 but not WTC 7! The last picture of course details the source of most of the engulfing smoke that was blamed on 7 but was in reality from WTC 5. I think this conclusively proves NIST NCSTAR 1-8 wrong as well as those who try to support NIST on this particular issue. There was water available to fight 7. The question is why was it used to fight other buildings and not 7? Especially considering that in all of the videos and photographs here, the building was being sprayed from the outside. I remember reading something about the use of fire boats on 9/11. There are actually a couple of mentions of it in NCSTAR 1-8. A FDNY fire boat and the retired FDNY fire boat "Harvey" were located at the shore on the Hudson River near the site. They were starting to stretch lines up to the WTC. -- report page 110 (PDF page 164) In attachment 2 of the same document describing the chronology of emergency responders: 10:50:50 FDNY Engine 33 advises that the water pressure is lost in lower Manhattan and requests a fireboat to augment the water supply. -- report page 230 (PDF page 284) An earlier entry in the same chronology describes Engine 33's activity: post collapse - relayed water from fire boat to manifold -- report page 110 (PDF page164) This is corroborated by a story about the retired fire boat that ran in the New York Times twelve days after the attacks: None of the hydrants west of the attack site worked, so the John J. Harvey, along with the city's two remaining large fireboats, provided much of the water through the rest of that week, firefighters said. link Given the direction of the spray and apparent distance from the end of the hose to the Hudson, it seems quite plausible that the water is being provided by one of the fire boats.
