A conceptual error

American Coup said that both Nazist Germany and Comunnist Russia have a fascist political regime.

This is a conceptual error. I hope not a delibereted one.

The main problem is that a fascist country and a communist country (and even Russia with their deturped communism), are completely different societies. A fascist county is capitalist by default, a communist country cann't be fascist, even if the they have a political regime without democracy, as the case of Russia.

Beyond this problem is a misconcept of what defines a kind of society. A capitalist country is strutucted by the explorarion of workers by another social class, the capitalists (or bourgeoisie).

In communism social class is non-existent. All people works and all can get a part of what is produced. The problem is that Russia ISN'T a example of a communist country. In Russia a small group inside the Communist Party took the power of the nation. (as if the Neoconservatives took the power in USA and lead it to a fascist regime, or if the Bussiness Plot put the USA on fascism). Leon Trotsky called the ex-Soviet Union as a Degenerated form of communism.

So, in times like today, that we have a heavy capitalist crisis, is important to know the alternatives to capitalism. And a true communism is truly posible. A comunism with democracy. A comunism with participation of people in politics decions truly posible.

As we saw on movie, a group wants to hold the power in USA. But its not only a group, is a entire social class. We can change any president, change the White House agenda, investigate 9/11 etc. But the world and workers will continue to suffer. Only if we replace capitalism by another more rational system we can have freedom and peace.

Best regards.

Emmanuel

Thank you for your thoughtful posting, Emmanuel.

Now, my dictionary (Merriam-Webster) defines fascism as, "a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition."

I think, in fact, that description does apply to many aspects of Soviet regimes, especially the Stalin years.

This is blatantly wrong. As midwestwally pointed out Communist countries can indeed be fascistic. Not only that, but the Nazi regime was by its very (abbreviated) definition National Socialism (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei = NSDAP = National Socialist German Workers' Party - abbreviated to Nazi)

Just a heads up.

This guy sounds like some of the people who have taken control of Progressive Independent. One of the signs is how they want to redefine the meaning of certain political terminology. Ie, democracy, capitalism, progressive are now bad words. Communism and socialism are refined and are now good words. Liberals are evil, lefties are good. That sort of thing.

To me, fascism is the suppression of individuality, which covers freedom, thoughts, art, way of living, religion, drug use, etc., and can be used/applied by all political systems.
