Over the last week the news in the UK has had a story about the american right wing politicians slagging of the british health service "the NHS".
What is interesting about this is that the british people have come out in force on twitter and elsewhere to defend the NHS and the lies that US politicians constantly repeating about it.

In the UK, I would say the bulk of the british people can't believe that Americans wouldn't want such a system in their country too, especially when so many people can't get medical attention because they can't afford it, whereas every UK citizen can get free treatment straight away.

Another recent story is of a british woman who appeared on a US republican party presentation claiming that the NHS was awful. The truth is that she is actually angry about how her words were edited to give the opposite impression of what she was trying to say.

And just a few days ago we had a British Conservative Euro MP Daniel Hannon who sits in the European parliament, He claimed people in America get much better treatment on a US TV interview. This gaffe might actually curtail his political carreer!

It seems to me that the US private medical industry with its ties to the Republicans are scared because this overexpensive way of funding health care is starting to look unsustainable.
