No, just a very busy area for air traffic. I was there a couple of weeks ago and took a ride on the Circle Line and there were dozens of helicopters flying around lower Manhattan.

This story is of interest to us down in New Zealand because the chopper pilot was a "Kiwi".

Just wanted to say that the plane collided with the chopper according to initial investigations. The chopper was hit from behind by the fixed wing, obviously a monumental fuck-up .. someone wasn't watching where they were going..

I find it rather ignorant that people are talking of suing the FAA for this incident. Considering there were a number of things that could have happened. Such as a mid air emergency involving one of the pilots, radio malfunction, radar malfunction or a simple pilot error. Why would we sue the FAA for this but not the for the 4 different aircraft which went awry. Traveling off their courses for 30+ minutes. Think about that for a bit.
