I believe the poster pictured was within the context of her "make evey vote count" tour, per her past record & numerous statements to that effect. btw, no matter what you think of her, or her politics, this sort of tripe is not helping the truther movement, nor is it very funny. I know some ppl who would laugh at this poster, but they are not the ppl I consider as informed, caring, open-minded human beings. The hatred (and fear) behind such "humor" only perpetuates baseless stereotypes and ignorance, which is also the mentality behind us having invaded Iraq, annihilated 14 million native Americans and had 400 years of slavery - hatred, smearing and harrassment of "the other". Don't you hate it when it's directed at you? A guy I know sent me an e-mail making a joke about blacks & Obama's promise to have work for everyone who wanted it, and it was disgustingly racist. What's the difference betw that and this? Maybe I should've laughed and forwarded it, like a good ol' white boy; "it's just a joke", right? Got on him too; don't talk like that around me; save it for your exalted grand klansmen. When FOX etc. were slamming one of the few celebs to embrace & promote 9/11 truth, Rosie O'Donnell, using the same mentality, if not the same words, I wrote them the same thing. You can't insult someone as a person & not show your own lower nature. If you want to imitate FOX's style, you can't complain about them again. Those who cannot intelligently contribute or rationally debate resort to smears &/or violence. Whatever she's done, or lied about, or likely to do, you insulting her as a human being does not help your cause. This is partly why this forum experiences very little influence, popularity or influence: neanderthal comments and personal attacks. Hardly any threads of length here stay clear of junior-high-school taunts and assaults on "the other". I'm probably not making any friends on this, but it had to be said. Hillary's not getting my vote, but misogynist crap has no place here, or in any free (or oppressed) society. |

Once upon a time a bank manager was considered a pillar of the community. In these enlightened days he's considered a social climber if seen with a used car salesman. Similar remarks can be made about any politician regardless of race or gender. If the same "photo" has circulated with gwb in it, how can you claim that it is misogynistic? |

You draw a very fine line there. Hillary's closet contains many skeletons, and every time one is brought out for an airing, Hillary just laughs it off as "That's old news." George's closet contains 3/4 million skeletons, some with the flesh still on them. Therefore: Slandering Hillary Rodham-Clinton as a Politician = Slandering George Walker Bush as a Politician. It is not a gender issue. |

can't say I disagree on any of your points, orac; however - and maybe it's just semantics - but the C word is having a laugh over a derisive term that is specific toward women, and is only for women, used more or less exclusively by men toward women, and usu because said women are deemed by said men to be TOO aggressive, TOO powerful, TOO assertive, TOO much of any trait that is usually reserved for men. When men are any of these, or excessively so, they're praised, promoted, inaugurated; women, not so much. This is my point, that it's the men v. women's equiv of the N word toward blacks; it's devoid of any particulars about the person's choices, words or actions. It's a term used exclusively to put women "in their place", much like white males use with blacks & the N word. I'm all for exposing skeletons & putting better ideas out there. Gender, race, clothing and such superficial items count for very little in matters of who we put in power. |

Honestly, I have never heard a woman described as "c***". I have heard myriad vocabulary-challenged men describe each other by that word, but the only times I have ever heard men use "c***" in relation to women is in direct reference to the pudenda. |

um, I think that picture could absolutely real. She's likely standing in front of one of her camaign's "Let Every Vote Count" banner they use at rally's that focus on getting the Michigan and Florida delegations seated. Which makes it that much more amusing...
