* I'm with a group of media people who are starting a new group in the 9/11 truth movement, calling for an honest, official re-investigation of the 9/11 attacks. * We started getting together about a month ago after hearing David Griffin speak in Keene, NH. Griffin encouraged media people in the audience to start this group and several of us took up his suggestion. * We're working on putting up a website with a petition for media people to sign, demanding a re-investigation. * We're just starting to plan the website details. We expect to have a major statement on the homepage, a petition page, and a links section on one of the pages for links to audio and video files on why to re-investigate the 9/11 attacks. * We have a domain name, so we're ready to start building the website. * We're not planning to put up a donations page yet, because we haven't formed a nonprofit org, although I plan to suggest that we use another nonprofit as a fiscal sponsor, so we won't need to become an official nonprofit ourselves. * I hope that we'll start a newsletter and maybe a radio show on the site in a few months. * For now I hope readers here may like to give suggestions and maybe offer volunteer help. * Here's what 2 members of our group came up with so far for our Mission Statement page. “[Edmund] Burke said that there were three Estates in Parliament [Kings, Lords and Commons], but in the Reporters Gallery yonder, there sat a fourth Estate more important far than they all.” --Thomas Carlyle, “Heros and Hero Worship in History” (1841) “Journalists, as the purveyors of information, are the watchdogs of democracy. Without an informed people, there can be no democracy. It is the job reporters and editors to ask the tough questions of those in power and to act on the answers with trust, integrity, and honesty guiding their judgment.” --Helen Thomas, “Watchdogs of Democracy” (2006) Mission Statement MNET is an organization of media workers, in its broadest and most modern sense. Since September 11, 2001 we have been investigating, asking the hard questions and reporting on the events of that day. Our questions have yet to be adequately or logically answered. We join with other professional organizations in calling for a real inquiry, unfettered by political constraints, to ascertain what really occurred on that fateful day. * I told them I don't care for the first quotation, because I don't think journalists or media are more important than elected representatives and because it sounds like we media people think we're more important than anyone else or better than others. But I like the second quotation, which just needs a minor edit. * I suggested that the Mission Statement be revised to explain why it's important to have a re-investigation, such as to find out who were the guilty parties and to prevent future terrorism by some of the same people. * I'll be working on the wording of our petition shortly, so I'll try to post that here too when I finish and invite comments then. Any Mission statement that is not an OMission statement will suffice. Glad to see journalists are coming together, most likely from necessity of having to deal with the absurdity that the media portrays. If it just becomes another group asking for a new investigation that is made up of jounalists, then at least they will be grammatically correct and I am sure it will have some great journalism. It seems we will be asking criminals to investigate themselves. I think this would be the biggest issue and there should be a criminal criteria set up for a new investigation. Perhaps journalists can be that unbiased voice and at least with your group reporting, it would make the distinctions obvious and also available. How about the name Media8 or MediaTE the TE stands for Tell Everything. And you should create your "OWN" Non-Profit as you will want full control of your paperwork and disclosure. It will take extra effort, but if you can dream a little here, I could see accepting donations for airtime that would give your group national exposure. Use the funding to construct an AD that drives normal TV viewers and Radio Listeners to your webshow. The media is an integral part of the successful rebuilding of America, after its subversion all these years a trustworthy media is required immediately! Hope it does Good... Luck! |

Here's my own final draft of our petition. Feel free to make suggestions for changes here or on this collaborative document: MNET PETITION (If you agree with our petition here, please endorse it below.) TO THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA We U.S. citizens and citizens of all nations hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01. Also, on behalf of all the victims of the 9/11 attacks, we demand all 90 governments that lost nationals on 9/11 to motion in the United Nations for the establishment of an ‘Independent International Truth Commission’. We the undersigned agree with the concerns and demands of the 9/11 Truth Movement and thus appeal and implore The American People, United Nations International Court of Justice, Amnesty International, the International Criminal Court, the US Senate, Congress & the Department of State, the Democratic National Committee (D NC) - Democratic Party USA, the Republican National Com mittee (RNC) - Republican Party USA, the Green National Committee (GNC) - Green Party USA, the Green Steering Committee - Green Party USA, the President elect & the new US Administration and the WORLD COMMUNITY, for an in-depth investigation of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the aftermath under an independent international Truth Commission comprised of a transnational body of experts, including; The commission should be monitored by Amnesty International, United Nations International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court and the International Commission of Jurists. The Worldwide Coalition for 9/11 Truth will prepare and file the case in collaboration with the groups and indivduals involved in the 9/11 Truth Movement on behalf of the American People and the World Community. It will also assist the commission in investigations with research and evidence examination. WHEREAS, many New York City voters believe that there remain many unanswered questions critical to establishing the truth about all relevant events leading up to, during and subsequent to the tragic attacks occurring on September 11, 2001 (“9/11”); and WHEREAS, the official investigations of the “9/11 attacks” were led by individuals closely aligned with, or even employed by, the Bush-Cheney administration; and WHEREAS, several top members of the 9/11 commission have stated that their investigation of the 9/11 attacks was interfered with by the Bush administration and that they were not allowed to discover answers to many problematic questions about the attacks; and WHEREAS, no prior investigation by any New York City agency or any other governmental entity has resulted in the citizens being provided with those critical answers or information necessary to establish the truth about those tragic events; and WHEREAS, the perpetrators of the heinous crimes against humanity that were committed on 9/11 have still not been brought to justice; and WHEREAS, there is incontrovertible publicly available evidence since 9/11/01 that the official account of the events of that day is incomplete and fraught with errors; and WHEREAS, the conclusions of these investigations differ radically from those that have been reached by independent researchers with various kinds of professional expertise; and WHEREAS, organizations of such researchers — including Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Lawyers for 9/11 Truth, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Religious Leaders for 9/11 Truth, Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice, and Veterans for 9/11 Truth — have called for a new, truly independent, investigation; and WHEREAS, the blatant disregard of extensive compelling evidence that clearly refutes the official account raises rational suspicion of intentional deception by agents of the U.S. Government; and WHEREAS, U.S. Government policies have been, and continue to be, founded upon assumptions about the events of 9/11 that are likely to be erroneous; and WHEREAS, military-grade nanothermite, scientifically estimated at many tons, has recently been found by scientists in the debris from the 9/11 attacks, which has no known reason to have been there; and WHEREAS, there is evidence that the WTC buildings collapsed by controlled demolition; and WHEREAS, there is evidence of intentional interference in scrambling military jets to stop the hijacked planes on 9/11/01; and WHEREAS, there is evidence of widespread tampering with evidence surrounding the attacks; and WHEREAS, the official account of 9/11 has been used as a pretext for wars that have killed and maimed millions of innocent people and caused enormous ecological damage to our planet; and WHEREAS, the official account of 9/11 has been used to increase military spending and thereby to withhold needed spending for health, education, welfare, infrastructure, and the environment; and WHEREAS, the official account of 9/11 has been used to indict Islam as an inherently violent religion and to justify discrimination against Muslims and attacks on Muslim countries; and WHEREAS, Life-threatening maladies caused by toxic environmental conditions at Ground Zero in New York City persist today and will continue to develop in the future; Therefore, we call on the U.S. Congress for a new and independent investigation into the events of 9/11/01 by a duly constituted legal body with the authority to subpoena and require testimony under oath, and with authority to prosecute, if criminal activity is discovered, so that the perpetrators of these crimes against humanity can at last be brought to justice. We also ask President Obama to authorize a new, truly independent, investigation into the attacks of 9/11 immediately, because such an investigation is long overdue, being owed to the 9/11 families, the American people, and the peoples of the world — especially the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq. The petition is very thorough and to the point. I've got an idea for a couple changes if you don't mind. Here's my idea on what the first part could be changed to:
And the last paragraph:
I believe it has to be a completely international investigation at this stage of the game. Only an international investigation represented by at least the 90 countries that lost citizens on 9/11 will be truly independent. I just can't see an impartial and independent investigation coming from the U.S. government. |

Thanks, Matt. * I'm thinking now that it might be good to address the petition to the city of NY, the state, the Congress and President and to the UN. After all, it appears that people in the city are trying to get a referendum for a city-level investigation of the attacks anyway. And the more levels of government we include, maybe the better our chances that one or more of them will succeed. * How about that? * I'll see about adopting some of your wording a little later today I think. |

* I changed the petition wording somewhat as Matt suggested. * We're working on a homepage and a mission statement. We're also working on preparation for putting links to audios about 9/11. We're just learning how to build the website. * Our webmaster made the site as a blog site, so people will be able to leave comments on the things we post. * I guess we'll be able to put up normal webpages too. * Does anyone have suggestions for other content? I'm guessing that we'll have a donations page eventually. |

My suggestion would be using Zetaboards as a platform. It is free, combines webpages, blogs, and forums in one easy to use integrated package, and can be configured to be as advanced or simple as you desire. There is also great support at the support forum and elsewhere which has many enthuasts constantly pushing and breaking it's preconceived limits. What you see here is a mere fraction of what it is capable of.  |

The Zetaboards support forum is located here - http://if.invisionfree.com/forum/1000057/ The beauty of it is that if you do not want the forum and just want the webpages, you can do just that. But the blogs are "tied" to the members, which are in turn "tied" to the forums, so by eliminating the forum function you would also be eliminating the built in blog function.  In any event I would suggest you register a free "test forum" and play around with it and ask any questions you may have at the support forum. Edit to add - You have a PM.
