Breaking: Fbi Did Not Id 9/11 Plane Wreckage; US Attorney Concedes On Behalf Of FBI
Topic Started: Mar 15 2008, 10:06 AM (309 Views)
Aidan Monaghan

The U.S. attorney on behalf of the FBI has revealed to the U.S. district court and myself yesterday, March 14, 2008, that the FBI never formally ID'd the 9/11 planes and do NOT possess ANY records regarding the recovery of the wreckage from the federally registered aircraft they allege were involved in the 9/11 attacks.

Assistant U.S. attorney Patrick A. Rose's statement reads:

"Since being served with the Summons and Amended Complaint, Federal Defendant, with assistance of its attorneys, has analyzed Plaintiff’s request and conducted a search for responsive records. Federal Defendant has determined that there are no responsive records. The identities of the airplanes hijacked in the September 11 attacks was never in question, and, therefore, there were no records generated “revealing the process by which wreckage recovered by defendant, from aircraft used during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, was positively identified by defendant . . . as belonging to said aircraft . . .” (Amend Compl. Inj. Relief #15 at 1.)"

Case No.: 2:07-cv-01614-RCJ-GWF

I'll provide a full update within 48 hours, once I can redact personal address info from the document.

mr.monaghan, im wondering if it is the Justice Dept. and not the FBI who has possession of the evidence from 9/11. recently i ran across the following:

http://www.ntsb.gov/Abt_NTSB/invest.htm

Investigations Involving Criminal Activity

In cases of suspected criminal activity, other agencies may participate in the investigation. The Safety Board does not investigate criminal activity; in the past, once it has been established that a transportation tragedy is, in fact, a criminal act, the FBI becomes the lead federal investigative body, with the NTSB providing any requested support.

One example would be the crash of a Pacific Southwest Airlines flight in San Luis Obispo, California on December 7, 1987. All 43 persons aboard died in the crash of the Bae-146. Because of information conveyed over the radio by the flight crew shortly before the crash, the FBI instituted its own investigation, parallel to the Safety Board's investigation, to determine if a crime had been committed. Within days, it was learned that a former employee of the airline had boarded the plane with a gun and, while the plane was in cruise flight, had shot the flight crew, causing the aircraft to crash. When that was made evident, the FBI assumed control of the investigation.

More recently, on September 11, 2001, the crashes of all four airliners were obviously the result of criminal actions and the Justice Department assumed control of the investigations. The NTSB provided requested technical support.

As the result of recent legislation, the NTSB will surrender lead status on a transportation accident only if the Attorney General, in consultation with the Chairman of the Safety Board, notifies the Board that circumstances reasonably indicate that the accident may have been caused by an intentional criminal act.

am i incorrect in seeing/making a distinction between the FBI vs. the Justice Department? the US attorney works for the Justice Dept., not the FBI, right? perhaps he can shed some light on the evidence and the corresponding government body that had/has jurisdiction over it, namely the Justice Dept., as alleged in the NTSB explanation document.

any thoughts?

Good question.

Based on the following, the FBI seems to be the appropriate agency to produce responsive information:

The NTSB factual reports on the 9/11 crashes indicate that the "attacks are under the jurisdiction" of the FBI.

From the FBI website:

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the investigative arm of the US Department of Justice."

By document labeled "Remarks of Carol Carmody Vice-Chairman, National Transportation Safety Board Leadership in Times of Crisis Seminar", it is indicated that the director of the FBI requested that the NTSB "help identify aircraft parts" belonging to the said aircraft.

http://www.ntsb.gov/speeches/carmody/cc020227.htm

And by virtue of the U.S. attorneys statement, it seems that a determination was made by the DOJ's investigative agency (the FBI) to not produce records pertaining to aircraft identifications.

Plus, to my knowledge, other entities like Judicial Watch sued the FBI for other 9/11 information collected by them.

The FBI seems to be the appropriate channel.
