Are in vitro children "natural persons" as defined by all applicable State Law, Federal UCC, and International Law? Discuss...?
If they aren't human beings aren't they homo-invitiru/os? A different genus all together different classification? Edited by mynameis, Mar 11 2008, 03:30 AM.

Since test tube babies and other babies are formed from humans, they are the same species. No loophole here. A difference that makes no difference is no difference at all. (J. Blish; Spock Must Die) |

In law definitions matter and they aren't natural persons. |

Until a law is passed that differentiates a person conceived by sexual intercourse and gestating in the womb from those who are artificially inseminated or fertilized in a dish and/or gestated outside the uterus; any human is going to be legally a natural person. They will be able to enjoy all the rights and be subjected to the responsibilities of any other person until then. |

Why are you so defensive about the facts? The definitions and the law are facts which speak for themselves. Are you a legal expert? I'm not, but I'm sure this is a loophole as defined by the everyday definitions. This can also be brought into court and exploited. I am not arguing they aren't rational beings, but they aren't natural human beings by definition. |

I disagree with you. Test tube babies are natural humans. |

I have side with "natural person". Where or how the conception took place is not covered by the law. A child born to non-u.s. people within the u.s. is a citizen. If the u.s. passes a discriminatory law creating a class distinction between in-vitro and in-utero conception, it will make the race riots look like a New Years' Eve Party. People are getting sick of discriminationn when we are all of one species. |
