(If you're all grown up, what's your current occupation?) I'm currently in school studying education and plan on going to law school in the fall. I plan on working as an attorney and possibly teaching in the later years of my career. Edited by jim76, Feb 27 2008, 11:53 PM.

That's it? There must be more than one person with a job or career aspirations. What are they? |

A Higher Evolution

I wanted to be an actor--I could memorize scripts so well, I was an on-stage prompt, but not having access to the "right" schools, or having the right "arts" background that kinda fell flat. I got a few bit parts, but I doubt they'll ever be seen outside Australia. I've done cold-call phone selling and absolutely hated it. I got involved in a loopy cult and hated it. (Well you don't actually hate it while you're still hypnotised.) I then moved into the public sector with a legal bias (workers comp), and from there on, every job I've had has been some variant of legal or IT. As a paralegal, I've managed to tie fully qualified solicitors in knots. I've had my own share of knots to untangle as well. I figured out the other day, I'm not a typist or a word processor operator--I'm a typographer. If I had access to genuine type-setting equipment I would use it! Can anyone spare $25,000 for a linotype machine? I still want to do media. I went back to Uni to do production but quit because of illness. I am still fighting hard to get my medical situation properly sorted, so I guess once that happens, I'll just be one of those free-grubbing money makers who goes for compensation claims against ignorant/negligent medicos and bureaucrats. Who cares if I make money out of it? As long as I raise the public awareness on what Chronic Fatigue Sufferers really have to endure every day of their lives, I've achieved something. So I guess that's my current "career": Kick the Medico/Legal system firmly up the Auxilliary Relay Switching Equipment. |

I run the content department of a digital music distributor. I also release my own commercial dance music when I have time to make it, in the style of acts like Cascada. |

I was fortunate enough to get in to public utilities 25 years ago and plan to retire in May of next year at 55 years old, with only a slight decrease in pay which will be made up by a 3.5% annual cost of living raise within a couple years. I plan on doing all the things that I didn't have time for in the past while being a slave to the grind and raising a family. |

An English gentleman, having observed American culture for several fortinght's time was asked what had struck him most about life in America. He stated that he believed that it was not Pilgrims that had come over on the Mayflower, but "Lawyers, Sir, Lawyers!"

thats right folks. i got suspended for using foul language, so its only fair if those who attack me and use name calling to get their point across, are also suspended. either personal attacks are wrong...or they arent. there should not be a distinction based on the views of the person attacked. other legitimate forums (such as JREF) suspend all folks who use ANY sort of personal attack, whether its name calling or not. this, is a good thing. we should be able to have a mature discussion and debate the issue, without calling each other names and attacking the messenger. and i admit, i have resorted to some of these tactics in the past, but i will no longer. as to whether it is ok to label someone's views as being racist, fascist, bigoted, insane, i have yet to recieve an answer on that one.
