After following the exchange by a commentator at screwloosechange, it appears a "debunker" has set up a website that appears to be associated with 9/11 Family Members. Tim Sumner claims the website is his homepage. http://www.911familiesforamerica.org/ From the About page: About
Here is a set of questions from SLC where a commentator began an inquiry into the alleged organization:
Tim refused to answer the questions at SLC, instead attacked the person asking the questions. If anyone knows real 9/11 family members or knows members who are affiliated with this web page, could you inquire as to their alleged involvement with the web page? After a cursory review of the web page, the organization is neither non-partisan based upon the right wing websites Tim's homepage links to and appears to have no 9/11 family members at all. There is no membership roster or anything of that nature to examine. It appears it's simply a rightwing blog set up by a "debunker" set up to detract attention away from the 9/11 Family members at www.patriotsquestion9/11.com or from the 9/11 Family Steering Committee or http://www.familiesofseptember11.org/whoweare.aspx Is it a disinformation website? Or just another blog in the infowars surrounding 9/11? Here is the Whois.net result: http://www.whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=911familiesforamerica&tld=org Thoughts and concerns are appreciated. |

I did some research, this group was set up by two family members, but I didn't find any info regarding any other members. "Washington, DC, March 10, 2009 – Today, Military Families United joined with 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America to release the following statement in response to the “9/11 Shura Council” letter announcing their responsibility and pride for their horrific actions on September 11, 2001. The document titled “The Islamic Response to the Government’s Nine Accusations,” was authored by five current detainees at Guantánamo Bay charged with planning the Sept. 11th attacks." "'This isn’t just a policy decision or the fulfillment of a campaign promise for us,' said Tim Sumner, co-founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America. “This is the reality we live with every day. We don’t have our loved ones with us because they were taken away by the brutal acts of these men." SOURCE: http://www.militaryfamiliesunited.org/?q=media/mfu-and-911-families-respond-911-terrorists-confession "I think if the Patriot Act were in place in the summer of 2001 . . . connecting the dots would have been so basic, and easy, and fundamental," says Debra Burlingame, co-founder of 9-11 Families for a Safe and Strong America. "With basic detective work, the plot could have been cracked in a matter of days." Her brother, Capt. Charles Burlingame, piloted American Airlines Flight 77 until al Qaeda hijackers presumably murdered him." SOURCE: http://www.nationalreview.com/murdock/murdock200601270937.asp But a "debunker" starting a fake organization is well within the realm of possibilities, seeing as how Troy From West Virginia saw it fit to make a phone call to 9/11 Family Member Bob McIlvaine and repeatedly call him a piece of trash because he has a different opinion on the subject. He even had the nerve to say that he was faking his tears over his dead son... Troy From West Virginia Harasses 9/11 Family Member Bob McIlvaine... http://www.911blogger.com/node/15768 And to think, Troy considers himself a patriot, good thing he isn't in a position of power, because a patriot should be aware that we have the right in this country to think whatever the hell we please, without the fear of persecution, and it's a right that real patriots died for. If he acts like this on a personal level, just think what BS actions he would take as a politician to silence the voices he doesn't like. I think that is what we are already facing in much of our media and positions of government, a bunch of more refined and slicker troys; fascists that think they are patriots. Advice from the Founding Fathers... http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1411396/advice_from_the_founding_fathers_part.html?cat=9 The founding fathers were considered traitors and unpatriotic to many people in their day... http://www.conservapedia.com/Patriotic_dissent ...and despite who is right and who is wrong, the people on the side of this debate following closest to the brand of patriotism that the founders exhibited are the truth seekers... Truthers - The Moral Equivalent Of Our Founding Fathers... http://www.rense.com/general82/mor.htm Troy and many of his "debunking" buddies also seem to forget that we have "the right to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". Again if he, and many other "debunkers" were persons in positions of power they would throw that right, right out the window as well. Of course as just an average Joe they can counter our opinions with their viewpoint, but you would think it was the world to ask them to conduct themselves with some civility, and to give another grown man the proper respect he deserves. And in Troy's case he doesn't have the right to counter with his viewpoint, because civility is appreciated and exercised by decent people, and that is one thing, but Troy engages in all out harassment. My understanding is he has been told to stop with these calls, which he has made to a ton of people in the 9/11 truth movement, and that people will be taking further action too. http://911debunkers.blogspot.com Edited by infowarpatriot, Apr 29 2009, 02:08 AM.
