Is it really that surprising a minority would want its own country after very nearly being wiped off the face of the Earth? Do you think Holocaust survivors were that sure the same thing would never happen in America? The U.S. already had a very long list of horrible things they have done to minority populations, and many sanctions (written and informal) against Jews.
