Proposing? I didn't propose anything. I just pointed out I have first hand experience in the conflict that that lends creedence to soldiers being wary of people they otherwise might not expect to be a source of danger. As for that photograph, it is very misleading for many reasons. The soldier does not have his finger on the trigger, so he isn't expecting any danger (or having to shoot someone). The photo is clearly cropped, so one can not accurately see what other people might be there. The angle of the photo is very misleading, to the point one may believe he is pointing the weapon at the child, but he isn't. He [soldier] is clearly many feet to the left and in front of the child (you can tell by the angle the mother's head is pointing), and his weapon is pointed to a 3 o'clock position in front of the child. Not at him. Its easy to make the mistake of thinking the guy's weapon is pointed at the kid, but clearly not when you take a close look. |
