Yesterday was my county convention. Out of a possible 38 delegates, we ended up with 32 Ron Paul delegates and a bunch of alternates. We pretty much swept the convention. The whole thing took about 14 hours but it was all worth it. We changed some of the county platform and we passed some important new resolutions. You could tell the whole time that the GOP regulars were not expecting the opposition. Some of the arguments that they used for their platform were mind-blowing. I have never been in a room with so many brainwashed and illogical people in my life. They were constantly contradicting themselves, their platform, and the Constitution. But they were totally fair in terms of how they conducted the convention. There was never anything shady going on. I won't be surprised if there are going to be some very surprised people at the state and national conventions. I think that there are going to be a lot of Ron Paul delegates coming out of the woodwork. People need to remember how many states don't have bound delegates, how many candidates have dropped out, and how many undecided people there are. Even some of the bound delegates can be released in the later rounds of voting in the national convention. It's amazing how many positive things for Ron Paul are going on that the media either ignores or twists around. If you watch the TV, you will feel as if there is no hope. If you're active in the campaign and talk with other people across the country who are involved in the campaign, you will have a different thought on the matter. Regardless of what happens in this election, I'm just happy to shake things up. If even on just on a local level. And to those of you going to your conventions, it's key to speak about issues like the economy, 2nd amendment, lower taxes, smaller government, and not Ron Paul. If you go in preaching Ron Paul and talking about things like the war, don't plan on being a delegate. Priority #1 is getting to the national convention. Then all gloves are off. |
