ironic (or is it?) how suddenly and completely the civil unrest in iran fell off the western (msm) radar, so maybe this is now "old news" but: Iran's Web Spying Aided By Western Technology European Gear Used in Vast Effort to Monitor Communications: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/apr/13/europe39s-telecoms-aid-with-spy-tech/ WSJ: Nokia, Siemens Help Iran Spy on Internet Users: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124562668777335653.html#mod=rss_whats_news_us the implication (imo) is that instead of helping to "destabilize iran", the west was actively helping iran's corrupt leaders (and its agents of doom) to monitor and consequently squelch/silence/defeat any opposition or instability that attempted to form within the country - as well it helped to keep iranians from getting the word out (to each other AND the world at large).
