The documentary evidence that Ong reported a shooting I have just posted in the Hijackers section. I have no problem believing that the knife attack would have lasted 32 seconds. On the contrary, I think if it happened it would have lasted much, much longer, and been a bloody mess. The crew had been warned against cockpit intrusion, and had acknowledged that warning. It's tough to understand how the hijackers got into the cockpit, and even if they did, the pilots would not have been surprised by the hijackers' entry, and thus would have been facing their opponents, and would have been able to use their arms and hands to defend themselves. I just thought the two audio transmissions provided by the government in the Moussaoui exhibit sounded phony and artificial in that context. It's hard to believe that 32 seconds into such a struggle, one pilot would still be saying "get outta here" to guys who are trying to stab him to death. |
