On 9/11, the israeli embassy released a statement expressing concern for 4,000 israelis in new york at the time of the attack. Pro-palestinian channels, then started making the claims that 4,000 jews stayed off work, and that Ariel Sharon had been warned not to go to New York that day either. Every other news article on the subject was based on what the palestinian story. The full explanation is a bit more complex then that, but thats the main jist of it.
