While the Freon tanks could explode due to pressure, Freon itself is not flammable.... But should you burn Freon ( R-12 ) a byproduct is phosgene gas. Back in the 70's there was a story about an auto shop class ( I think in Indiana ) in which the students were recharging an A/C system in a car and did not notice a leak and several died when the Freon was burned within the engine. |
