Why not? They took control after the aircraft were airborne. Flight 93 crashed into the ground; hard to miss the ground. Flight 77 crashed into the extremely large Pentagon, very hard building to miss. If the hijacker piloting the plane that hit the second tower was a better pilot, then he might have made a center hit instead of the corner.
