Here's a headline from the Little Green Footballs blog: "Alaska Democratic Party Deletes Page Crediting Sarah Palin with Killing 'Bridge to Nowhere'" And there's also a related story that Obama and Biden both voted FOR the Bridge to Nowhere. It'll be just a tad difficult for them to raise this as an anti-Sarah issue: "Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (“to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs. However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief." http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/ Scroll down a little ways |

Watched Nightline again last night. They were "interviewing" George Stephanopoulos and he was ticking off a couple of "problems" that Palin will be forced to confront as the election progresses -- the arrows in the democrat quiver if you will. I think one was this "Bridge to Nowhere" non-issue. The other was "Troopergate." This is twice I've seen "Troopergate" discussed on Nightline and both times they presented it as a simple family fued with an ex-brother-in-law. In fact, those were George's exact words last night -- "family fued." Not once did they mention anything about the conduct of this trooper that might have justified his firing. Not once. Never mentioned tasering his stepson. Never mentioned drinking in his patrol car or threatening the lives of Sarah's parents. None of that. Vindictive Sarah just wanted to fire her the man her sister divorced. |

Obama and Biden both voted for the Bridge! http://www.theobamafile.com/ObamaLatest.htm Snip. Lord, please have Obama continue to use that Bridge to Nowhere line. It has progressed from a dumb attack almost all the way to a Big Lie. Obama voted for that bridge -- twice! So did Joe Biden. Obama has requested almost a billion dollars in earmarks in just three years of being in the Senate; McCain doesn’t earmark at all. Obama is flailing, because he’s getting exposed. All anyone has to ask Obama is this question: "what have you yourself done to effect change and reform at any political risk to yourself?" His only examples come from bills he co-sponsored that were so uncontroversial that they passed without roll-call votes. More at Hot Air . . . snip |
