The New York Times has aparently done something like this before by trying to investigate the adoption of the children of John Roberts who was then a nominee for the Supreme Court.

From the Wall Street Journal on-line (August 5, 2005):

http://www.opinonjournal.com/best/?id=110007072

"The New York Times has confirmed Matt Drudge's report, which we noted yesterday, that it was 'looking into the adoption records of Judge John roberts's two children.' A Times spokesman tells Fox News Brit Hume that, in Hume's words, 'the paper was simply asking questions, and that only initial inquiries had been made.'

(snip)

"According to Hume, the Times' 'initial inquires' consisted of 'asking lawyers who specialize in adoption cases for advice on how to get into the sealed court records about Roberts's children. At least one lawyer turned the Times down flat, saying tht any effort to pry into adoption case records, which are always sealed, would be reprehensible.'"

I'm sure the Times investigation of the Palin child will backfire too.

From Drudge:
Quote:

Mr. Obama, who is a Christian and often proudly speaks about how his faith has influenced his public service, said he finds it "deeply offensive" that there are efforts "coming out of the Republican camp to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith."

But not a word about how offensive he finds it when there is suggestion that Trig's mother, isn't who the Palin's say it is????????

Quote:

"The McCain campaign has never suggested you have Muslim connections," said Mr. Stephanopoulos, who repeatedly interrupted Mr. Obama during the interview.

"I don't think that when you look at what is being promulgated on Fox News, let's say, and Republican commentators who are closely allied to these folks," Mr Obama responded, and Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted: "But John McCain said that's wrong."

Unlike MSNBC, NY Times, CNN etc, who are "closely allied to (Obama)" when they talk about a five month old BABY!

Quote:

Mr. Obama noted that when Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin "was forced" to talk about her pregnant 17-year-old daughter, he issued a forceful statement to reporters that the line of inquiry was "off limits." But he said the McCain campaign tried to tie him to "liberal blogs that support Obama" and are "attacking Governor Palin."

"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."

Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith."

"My Christian faith," Mr. Obama said quickly. "Well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim. And I think that his campaign's upper echelons have not, either. What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I'm not who I say I am when it comes to my faith -- something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time."

Asked to comment on the accidental misstatement illustrating the difficulty of the issue, Obama spokesman Bill Burton offered this comment: "I'm not surprised that the only outlet doing this story is The Washington Times."

And I'm still waiting to hear Obama come out on television to decrie the media's "vetting" of a 5 month old baby, and a 17 yr old minor child. I won't hold my breath.

One of the political science professors where I work sent a bunch of us the Myspace page of Bristol Palin's boyfriend. I had to remind this "sophisticated" college professor that the page was a forgery.

One has wonder when the massive backlash against the MSM will erupt ?

It does not seem to be a profession one would like to crow about to much at this time?

Gee, I wonder if the NY Slimes will do as good a job as it did in the Duke case. Never forget that the NY Slimes was the entity that gave us the infamous August 25, 2006, article that claimed there was enough evidence to "take the case to trial."

Yes, yes, the NY Slimes always is on the job.

The Feds are going after Lori Drew, for forging a MySpace page in order to harass a teen, who then committed suicide. Maybe they should also go after whatever fool is doing this page.
Quote:

A federal judge has tentatively rejected two motions to dismiss charges against a Missouri woman accused of opening a MySpace account that was used to bully a 13-year-old girl who committed suicide. The judge is still considering a third motion and plans to make a final ruling on all three motions next week.

Lori Drew was indicted last May in Los Angeles County, where MySpace is based, in the wake of public outrage that stemmed from the failure of authorities in Missouri to charge her with a crime. Authorities in that state had said their hands were tied since there were no laws prohibiting cyberbullying.

So federal prosecutors charged her with one count of conspiracy and three violations of the anti-hacking Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, on grounds that she violated MySpace's terms of service by providing false information to open a fake MySpace account with her daughter and another teen in September 2006. In doing so, authorities say, she obtained unauthorized access to MySpace's servers.

Only a person of strong convictions and deep personal faith could withstand these vicious attacks. Palin has both. I am sure she hurts for her family. One of my college children said that a female student from Alaska at her school had circulated an email throughout all the sororities suggesting that Palin was a "slut" and no one should vote for her. Apparently this email said that this information was being generated out of Alaska.

The NYTimes/Media is also diverting attention away from all the interest in John Edwards infant. I bet he's thanking McCain everyday for getting him off the front pages. They don't want anyone talking about Obama's experience, background, religion, associations, or position on issues either. It works for them! If it weren't so serious it would be hilarious. It might be a very very long 2 months.

I am trying to understand what the whacked out, far left bloggers are trying to claim.

Some speculate that Trig was born to Bristol and that Sarah adopted her to avert
shame for the family ...

But Trig was born in April, and Bristol is 5 months pregnant now ...

It's crazy beyond bizarre!

Are they so afraid of NOT winning this election that their brains are melting down?

They're running around like chickens with their heads cut off, tripping over themselves to get a story, ANY story, filled with dirt. Not that they know anything about chickens, they are all probably vegans. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

In a hard hitting expose the NY Crimes has uncovered that Trig Palin, youngest child of the Palin's, regularly poops his pants. Our investigative reporter Duff Wilson has spent the last week following the McCain campaign to get the inside scoop on the poop. Inside sources say Trig has horrible table manners and spends most of his day sleeping. Anonymous sources claim was this common for all of the Palin children. "They were just worthless as infants, expecting Sarah to wait on them.

Mark Gottlieb served as a consultant to Duff.

Even to the most clueless person out there, it should be obvious that the NYT has sunk to the lowest of yellow/tabloid journalism level.
