With the ridiculous headlines like "TrooperGate" against Sarah Palin I thought it could be a interesting excersize to create headlines from little snippets. We can play MSM!

Here's one

Progress Energy officials said 400 workers were getting out to assess damage when conditions were safe and would be coming behind the storm to restore power.

"Our crews are in the field, making good progress on the outages already reported," said Hershell McCarty, the company's storm coordinator for the Carolinas. "We know any outage is unwelcome for our customers, and we're working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible."

Scott Sutton, with Progress Energy, said the company had monitored Hanna since it was a tropical depression, placed crews on standby and kept them home, instead of assisting relief efforts along the Gulf after Hurricane Gustav.

"We wanted our resources here in North Carolina to be fresh and ready," Sutton said

This is why I started this thread, unfortunately Obama said this

Obama At Bon Jovi Event: 'We Won't Be Bullied'

[*]MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (AP) ― Unlike his Republican opponent, Democrat Barack Obama is still raising money for his presidential campaign, and he turned Friday to rock legend Jon Bon Jovi for help.

Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea, hosted more than 100 people for dinner on their mansion lawn by the Navesink River in Middletown, N.J. The price was $30,800 a person, to be divided between the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

"When I look at Barack, I see an old man," Bon Jovi said in introducing his guest. Obama is 47, Bon Jovi is 46.

Obama spoke for about eight minutes before greeting guests individually. He vowed to fight Republican attacks on his character and background more fiercely than John Kerry did in his losing campaign four years ago.

"We're not going to be bullied, we're not going to be smeared, we're not going to be lied about," Obama said. "I don't believe in coming in second."

Earlier in the evening, Obama attended a $2,300-per-person reception at the nearby home of veteran party fundraiser Phil Murphy. About 200 people, including the Bon Jovis and New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, attended.

Republican nominee John McCain can raise no more campaign money because he accepted about $84 million in public funding and the restrictions that go with it. Obama turned down the public funding, figuring he can raise and spend more on his own.

The last week the Left & the MSM has attacked WHO? Has Bullied WHO?

Obama says his experience comes from running a campaign.

This is his populist outreach to the little guy.

It was either this or bowling. He chose this.

We will evaluate this example of political genius.

UN says eat less meat to curb global warming

People should have one meat-free day a week if they want to make a personal and effective sacrifice that would help tackle climate change, the world's leading authority on global warming has told The Observer

Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which last year earned a joint share of the Nobel Peace Prize, said that people should then go on to reduce their meat consumption even further.

His comments are the most controversial advice yet provided by the panel on how individuals can help tackle global warning.

Pachauri, who was re-elected the panel's chairman for a second six-year term last week, said diet change was important because of the huge greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental problems - including habitat destruction - associated with rearing cattle and other animals. It was relatively easy to change eating habits compared to changing means of transport, he said.

snipped...

Last year a major report into the environmental impact of meat eating by the Food Climate Research Network at Surrey University claimed livestock generated 8 per cent of UK emissions - but eating some meat was good for the planet because some habitats benefited from grazing. It also said vegetarian diets that included lots of milk, butter and cheese would probably not noticeably reduce emissions because dairy cows are a major source of methane, a potent greenhouse gas released through flatulence

Flatulence a major source of Climate Change

Reporters BTW usually do not create their headlines, much to their consternation at times

"Flatulence a major source of Climate Change"

It always makes ME roll down the window when I'm with someone who "expresses" themselves. :-)
