. Howard Gutman is on TV and the radio saying Palin is not taking proper care of her family - and that she has not put her own family first. I believe Gutman works in some capacity for Obama (maybe someone can clarify that). Well, it's out there, we now have people going on TV and openly saying that women can't hold office and do important jobs and still be respected members of society - because they're not taking care of their families. |

Didn't her husband quit his job to spend more time taking care of the kids? |

. There are others saying now that she should quit Politics because her daughter is going to need help with her child. So now, women are supposed to check out of the workplace when they become grandmothers? Does anyone believe for one second that anyone would print or get on TV and say that Hillary needs to step down or drop her campaign for President because Chelsea is going to have a Baby? No. Double Standard. |

Tony, if you want to see hypocrisy at it's most unbelievable, read the link below on the op ed Gloria Steinem just wrote for the LA Times on Palin's nomination. I know, I know, I know. You'll stare at that piece and think that Gloria can't possibly be serious. But I swear to God, she IS. I know it doesn't make sense - it's total lunacy - but dammit, it's there in black and white for everyone to read. Yes, folks. Gloria Steinem, one of the founding members of the feminist movement, is screaming mad because a female was chosen for VP on the basis of her mind instead of her sex. Unbelievable. Just f**king unbelievable. http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-oe-steinem4-2008sep04,0,1290251.story |

I don't find anything unbelievable about any of this. It's SOP for the left - always has been , always will be. |

So they don't think they can win on the issues. They have to slime this woman and her family. I don't for one minute think that the Obama Campaign can't control this. They don't want to. I know some partisans can be very independent, but this is too large, too widespread. We are seeing the kind of personal character assassination the left always complained about McCarthy about. This is the Change and new America they want? |

Baldo, I am in no way convinced that the Obama campaign isn't actually behind a lot of it. I don't know if they're behind the "Trig isn't Sarah's child" lunacy, but the trashing of Bristol and the ridiculing of Palin's background and the attempts to diminish her are of course coming from the Obama campaign, even if it isn't an official directive. Obama-Biden have trained operatives working for them. Those are the people behind about 90% of the trashing, imo. |

This is nothing as to what will be coming. The attacks on her will be relentless and they will be nasty. My sense is that she can take it much better than Hillary ever could. Can you imagine what would have happened had Nifong indicted her son? I would not want to mess with this woman, any more than I would want to mess with Rae Evans.

One thing it appears the McCain-Palin camp is doing is not submitting her to one-on-one interviews with the sharks and pit vipers. No pressers, either. They're letting her control her own dialog with no opportunity given to sharks and pit vipers to edit, slice, dice and spin what she says or do hatchet jobs on her. Very, very smart. |

I agree that it's SOP and we should all not be surprised. BUT, the other side of my brain is enraged - these actions need a new word to describe them. I can't find anything in current use that can touch it. |

As bad as the MSM is IMO they can say whatever they want. I will be knocking on my neighbors house and discussing the issues with my neighbors. And yes, some of those issues will be about the abuse this woman and her family are having to face. I will then convince them how important it is to vote and to vote not only on the issues but to send a message to the MSM that they cannot do what they are doing. I will then ask my neighbors to bring someone to the polls to vote also. I will not stand silent while self-privileged people in this country abuse our system of government. This is not much different from what Thomas Paine wrote back in the 18th century and published as a little pamphlet. Something called "Common Sense". Something about the abuse of the common people by the privileged. We dont have to take it. We didnt then and we dont now. Hear ye, hear ye! Car salesmen have now been promoted to levels above the newsprint and congress. |

Does anyone remember the 'good old days' when the scum of the earth were lawyers?... before they were overtaken by MSM reporters and op-ed writers!
