I'm not sneering at her at all. I'm suggesting that Todd invest in a pack of condoms. Levi too. I'm sure they have them in Alaska.
Yeah, condoms never break.

Joan -
If I had to rebut every point in every post zinged in my direction, I'd be a little tied up.

Yeah, condoms never break. Yeah - but then can't you blame China and have a claim to some sort of foreign policy experience? George Costanza had his problems with the defective Chinese condoms he got from Kramer.

Ah....but they took personal responsibility, rather than "blame" someone else. :-)

"AB, Duke - in four years, in Chemistry, Biology and History.
MS, Hopkins - in Cell and Molecular Biology
MS, Hopkins - in Biomedical Engineering
What would Sarah Palin do if she was asked to handle, isolate and sequence DNA from a blood sample flown across the ocean from an AIDS patient who reported to a health clinic in Africa and died before they could even fill the cooler? Wet herself? Get pregnant again? There are different sorts of courage, and different sorts of career paths. I'm happy with mine. It was paved by hard work, a quality education, and yes, some courage."
Come on, a few Blog Hooligans and a little ole Housewife? I know you're up to it.
Come on, humor us.

I would like to ask Duke84 how one would know when making love between a wife and husband who want children that one is conceiving a child that has Down's syndrome? Once one found out they have a "defective child" then of course they should relieve society from that burden? Just as obama says late term abortion is ok becasue it prevents the birthing parent from being burdened with a child?
But regardless of my leanings, I am really interested how one can plan for a baby to be conceived without a genetic defect, at any age of the wife or husband. I, with my biology background, am awaiting you with your biology background, an answer to preventing defective conception at conception. I am wondering if that also includes a sub 70 IQ since that is the arbitrary number society (st least NC society) puts on minimal intelligence. How does one prevent sub intelligence at conception?
Just wondering.
Sure I suppose one could base prevention of defective conceptions on statistics but even if a woman over 40 has a 1 in 100 chance of having a defective downs baby, is that reason enough for preventing conception when a man and a woman want a child?
What are the maternal age risks for Down syndrome? Maternal AgeRisk at birth 15 to 24 years1 out of 1300 25 to 29 years1 out of 1100 35 years1 out of 350 40 years1 out of 100 45 (and older)1 out of 25
What is the cutoff age for not wearing condoms and who decides? Should it be the government who decides when to use condoms? Maybe you are advocating government intervention and testing for all genetic diseases that people have so that one can determine who should conceive and who should not conceive a baby. or maybe you are advocating going back to the old days where people just made fun of the different little ones and criticized their parents for having them.
I am just curious why you blame (or criticize) a woman over 40 having a downs baby when the chances for normality are about 99 out of 100?

If you have a Down Syndrome baby at 44, it's time to shut down the factory, IMO. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that the biologist in me talking.
Like I said, there are all sorts of brands of courage out there. I think all four top of the ticket candidates have shown some. I'm not going to rate them.
That's a personal family matter between her, her husband, and her own faith and convictions. I think what rankles the Left here..is that this is an example of a woman taking the difficult road that the Faith she professes..required. If she had aborted, you would call her a hypocrite. She "bore her burdens" and you sneer at her. She can't win. This is a turn off quality of the Elite Left that has made Palin someone many of us can relate to. It's if her genuine embrace of the values she professed, no matter how difficult, made her a threat to those who don't want to take on anything difficult.

Do you know Palin's academic record? Do you think someone is better because they graduated from Duke rather than a state school? One would also want to know the accomplishments of them AFTER graduation.
What I am saying is that I had a better academic record than three of the four candidates. If I had a better professional record, I wouldn't be here arguing with you on Saturday morning.
#1 Prove it #2. Thanks. Just as I thought. What matters is what you do with your life.

I mean this seriously. That is quite an accomplishment,
BTW, How are your people skills?
Brittany, I dearly love my oldest, his IQ is up there scary, he is well on his way to his PHD, undergrad in bio-chemistry and bio-physics - but to be truthful often he can't walk and chew gum at the same time, common sense is sometimes MIA. His people skills are finally improving with age, he is generous and fair but frequently oblivious to social cues. It is these 'foibles' that are the most endearing, not his sheepskin. Ahem........maybe in some people. Others, not so much.

I'm just wondering where all the "reproductive rights" screamers are. A woman on welfare with six children and six different baby daddies.......she has RIGHTS to procreate! But a woman with five children, married 22 years to the same man, able to financially provide for her children, working......Slam her as fast as you can! It boggles the mind, frankly.

The same people that would never stand for Crystal to be called a Non-ideal Mom are going for Palin's jugular and using her Motherhood to do it.
