Let me preface this by stating that I have no truck with pornography of any sort - I fail to understand why someone would find it satisfying......if anything, I feel sympathy for those who feel that this is the only way that they can achieve satisfaction/gratification/happiness - whatever emotion it is that engaging in such activities brings. That being said, it bothers me immensely that there has been little if any outcry about the hacking of the Ashley Madison site and the selective release of the names of those who made use of its services. Those that used that site paid to do so with the understanding (legal) that their identities and proclivities would remain secret. Pornography (excepting child porn) is legal in this country - and what one does in the privacy in one's room (and for that matter, I suppose in front of a computer in this instance) is protected (isn't that the interpretation that has come from the Griswold case?). It would seem that those who hacked the site seem to have taken it upon themselves to act as some sort of moral police - though with certain targets - with the possible exception of Hunter Biden (and to be honest it does seem like the account in his name was created by someone else - though I doubt the Russians as has been suggested) mostly of the religious right or reality television characters. The desire to destroy the Duggars - seems to be front and center. While I have little truck with most of their beliefs and lifestyle - I do not understand the relentless attempt to ruin the life of Josh Duggar, his wife, and their children because of what seems to be a hatred of the Jim-Bob and his wife. And while one might argue that by seeking the publicity that they have with their show, they have encouraged those who feel that they are hypocrites (or at least hope that they are), still the Biblical injunctive "let he without sin cast the first stone" seems to have been cast aside when it comes to attacking the Duggars. Josh Duggar will have much for which to answer - I hope that his faith is as strong as he claims it to be - and that of his wife as well.......they have a very long and rocky road ahead of them. Try this conspiracy out: the Justice Dept won't pursue a fraud case against Ashley Madison because the "company" has direct irrefutable evidence that it was indeed Joe Biden's son who had enrolled and was paying the monthly fees. So, given the Duggars are finished to the extent you can stab them with a fork, and Ashley Madison is also done, no reason to embarrass poor old Joe, especially since he will likely run for President. Just pure speculation. |
