. NFL top Brass LIED to the Patriots and their owner, Bob Kraft. Tom Brady’s appeal hearing transcript has further confirmed what we already knew — the NFL’s process of testing the air pressure in footballs at halftime of the AFC Championship Game was a complete mess. The hours and days after the Deflategate scandal were so messy that even NFL executives were lying — whether intentionally or not — about the exact air pressure that was recorded in the game balls the New England Patriots had been using. The day after the Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts, NFL senior vice president of football operations Dave Gardi sent a letter to the Patriots informing them that 11 of the 12 game balls they used were below the legal limit at halftime. He also wrote that one of New England’s balls measured at 10.1 psi and that none of the Colts balls were under. Troy Vincent confirmed all of this while being questioned by Tom Brady’s lawyer, as noted by Deadspin. Q. Okay. Let me ask you this. If you look at this letter on the second page, it talks about the fact that one of the game balls was inflated to 10.1 psi. Do you see that? A. Yes, sir. Q. Now, I am going to give you another exhibit, which is NFL 14. And you will see these are notes, I believe, that were taken when the testing was done. And you signed them in several places. If you will look at page 256, I think it’s the first time your signature appears; is that correct? A. Yes, sir. Q. And you signed this as a witness of the halftime testing; is that correct? A. That’s correct. Q. Okay. And if you look at the listing of the pressures that are written down for the Patriots’ eleven balls, none of them are as low as 10.1; is that correct? A. That’s correct. Q. Okay. So do you know why Mr. Gardi thought that a ball was as low as 10.1 when none of those measures were here? A. No. Despite Gardi seemingly pulling the number 10.1 out of thin air, Vincent testified that he did not believe there was any confusion with the ball-measuring process. If you remember, three of the four Colts’ balls that were measured fell below 12.5 psi on one of the gauges. However, Vincent said Gardi was referring to the higher of the two gauges in his letter, yet he made no mention of two gauges being used. How was anyone supposed to know that before the Ted Wells report came out? Mistakes like these are a horrible look for the NFL, even if Brady and the Patriots are guilty. Gardi’s letter to the Patriots and this alleged quote from an NFL official make it obvious — in my opinion — that more than a few NFL employees were licking their chops at the thought of having busted the Patriots. http://larrybrownsports.com/football/nfl-exec-dave-gardi-lied-to-patriots-underinflated-ball/269434 . http://larrybrownsports.com/football/tom-brady-never-thought-air-pressure-16-psi/269377 Tom Brady: I never thought about air pressure until refs inflated to 16 psi "... “Like I said, I never have thought about the ball, the air pressure in a football,” Brady said. “The only time I have ever thought about the air pressure in a football was after the Jets game when they were at the level of 16(psi). “So whenever I went to pick the game balls, I never once in 15 years ever asked what the ball pressure was set at until after the Jet game. So whether it’s 12.5 or 12.6 or 12.7 or 12.8 or 12.9 or 13, all the way up to the Colts game, I still think it’s inconsequential to what the actual feel of a grip of a football would be.” Brady went on to say that he focuses more on “how the ball feels in my hand,” not how inflated it is. When asked about the time he was discussing Rob Gronkowski’s spikes and joked that he likes a softer ball, Brady said he meant the actual leather and outside — not the psi. I tried to hammer this point months ago, but most people continue to ignore it. Everyone has focused on the “Deflator” text messages that were exchanged between Patriots equipment managers John Jastremski and Jim McNally, yet there has been little mention of Jastremski telling McNally that the referees “f—ed” the Patriots and inflated the balls to 16 psi before a game against the Jets. You can read those texts in detail here. Were Jastremski and McNally exaggerating about that particular detail? Did the official overinflate the balls after the Patriots tried to hand them in under the allowable limit? We don’t know, but Brady claims it was that alleged “gross overinflation” that even put the thought in his mind. He also said that was the reason he asked his equipment staff to hand a copy of game ball inflation rules to the officials before games. If it’s such a huge deal that the Patriots played with balls that were less than 2.0 psi underinflated in the AFC Championship Game, why isn’t it an equally big deal that the NFL’s own official may have overflated game balls by roughly 2.5 psi? Because it doesn’t fit the narrative, that’s why." |

. His Lawyer was correct in knowing that any personal text or photos or sites accessed on his phone would be leaked to ESPN. It really looks like a Gotcha Operation. The NFL didn't care about the PSI - they didn't record what gauge was used and they stopped when they saw the Colt's footballs were out of specs. Then they lied about the recollections of the readings in order to prompt a certain response. They said they were okay without Brady's phone (and Goodell didn't provide his personal phone when he asked the NFL office be investigated) - but later leaked to the Media that he destroyed his phone they said they didn't need. This was no investigation - but a manipulation of the media to take down a veteran that had QB ratings in his three games of Brady QB Rating vs Ravens in Playoffs: ......... 99.3 Brady QB Rating vs Colts in Playoffs: ............ 100.4 Brady QB Rating vs Seahawks in Super Bowl: 101.1 Pretty consistent. . If not sarcastic, I wonder what reason he congratulated Goodell? The process made the NFL look silly no matter which side you might be on. |

Maybe Goodell needs to worry about this . watch video at site Geno Smith out 6-10 weeks; 'sucker punch' over $600 dispute FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The altercation in the New York Jets locker room that ended with quarterback Geno Smith suffering a broken jaw began as a dispute over $600, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Smith, who will miss at least six to 10 weeks with two fractures in his jaw, accepted a $600 plane ticket from IK Enemkpali to appear at the reserve linebacker's football camp in Pflugerville, Texas, according to sources. Problems arose when Smith did not show to the camp, which took place days after someone close to Smith died in a motorcycle accident in Miami, sources said. After Smith did not attend, Enemkpali demanded that the Jets quarterback refund him the $600 he allegedly used to purchase the plane ticket. Smith told Enemkpali he would reimburse him the money, but he had not as of Tuesday morning. Enkempali confronted Smith on Tuesday about the money, and the confrontation ended in a punch and a broken jaw. Enemkpali, a sixth-round pick in 2014, was released immediately by the team, with coach Todd Bowles saying it's up to Smith if he wants to formally press charges. The coach also said he spoke to the team and then made the decision to let go of Enemkpali. "It was nothing to do with football. ... It was very childish," Bowles said. "He got cold-cocked ... sucker punched, whatever you want to call it, in the jaw. He's got a broken jaw, a fractured jaw." "The team knows it. It's something we don't tolerate, something we can't stand," Bowles said. "You don't walk up to a man and punch him in the face." Enemkpali released a statement Tuesday afternoon saying he was sorry for his actions. "I apologize to the Jets organization, coaches, teammates and fans," Enemkpali said. "Geno and I let our frustration get the best of us, but I should have just walked away from the situation. I deeply regret and apologize for my actions. It was never my intention to harm anyone. I appreciate the opportunity I had with the Jets."...snipped http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/13416881/geno-smith-new-york-jets-6-10-weeks-broken-jaw I guess the problem was Enemkpali didn't sucker punch a girl. |

. $600 to Geno Smith is like a penny to me. I just saw a report blaming Clubs for wanting to attract NFL players - and they were being criticized when trouble follows. The Clubs said that the players spend about $20,000 a night there. One player - $20,000 in one night. The team drafted a guy that attacked a Cop. What do they expect? . $600 is chump change to Gino, but not a 7th round draft choice. besides some of the NFL think "disrespect" is more important. They will spend $20,000 but don't disrespect them. I imagine that could have been part of this. Did Gino call him to say he wouldn't be there? etc |

Judge puts NFL on hot seat at 'Deflategate' settlement hearing NEW YORK – A federal judge put the NFL on the defensive Wednesday over its four-game suspension of Tom Brady, demanding to know what evidence directly links the New England quarterback to deflated footballs and belittling the drama of the controversy. "What is the direct evidence that implicates Mr. Brady?" Judge Richard M. Berman repeatedly asked NFL lawyer Daniel L. Nash at the first hearing in the civil case in Manhattan federal court as Brady and Commissioner Roger Goodell looked on. Nash responded there was "considerable evidence Mr. Brady clearly knew about this," including records of text messages and phone calls between the quarterback and one of two Patriots employees implicated in the scandal known as "Deflategate." But he also said there was no "smoking gun" showing Brady had direct knowledge that the balls were underinflated for the first half of the Patriots' 45-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC championship game Jan. 18. Brady and Goodell didn't speak during the hearing, except to introduce themselves to Berman. Brady, his head lowered, looked dour as lawyers spoke for about 1 hour, 20 minutes. Immediately afterward, Brady smiled slightly as he signed sketches for two court artists. Berman then met individually with each side for more settlement discussions in private...snipped http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2015/08/13/judge-puts-nfl-on-hot-seat-at-deflategate-settlement-hearing/ |

Reports from the NFL's settlement hearing with Tom Brady are out, and it sounds like the NFL got crushed The NFL and NFL Players Association had its second settlement hearing in court on Wednesday, and it sounds like it went horribly for the NFL. Since the NFLPA took the NFL to court over Tom Brady's four-game suspension, the two sides haven't made any progress on a settlement. While Judge Richard Berman, who is overseeing the case, can't force either side to come to a settlement, he can push in one direction to encourage a settlement, perhaps hinting that he favors one side's argument. Based on the reports from Wednesday's hearing, it sounds like Berman may be pushing the NFL to come to a settlement. Berman was apparently very critical of the NFL's argument: Adam Schefter ✔@AdamSchefter If Judge Berman was critical of NFL last week, he was even more critical today. Questions of fundamental fairness and evident impartiality. Ben Volin ✔@BenVolin UPDATE: Hearing over after 2:15. No settlement. Judge Berman was very, very critical of NFL. Brady/NFLPA are making a good case...snipped http://finance.yahoo.com/news/reports-nfls-settlement-hearing-tom-175716170.html |
